I actually like Ed Dawes. I find that Dave Fletcher very boring.

And yet only two sides in this division have scored more, and one of them scored 7 of their 16 goals in one game.

    I disagree.
He had made his statement at the beginning of the Forum and he must be very cautious about stating anything that would cause legal trouble for the Club.
There are a certain section of the fanbase that will never move on from using him as the scapegoat and are just looking to criticise him at every opportunity. It says more about them than it does about Pearce to be honest.

Because it’s a difficult and emotive subject, going over it won’t change anything, and he’s got a chance to put it right so is focusing on the future rather than dwelling on the past?

    Decent player tbf
Fairly regular for Sunderland last season so certainly good enough for L1

Betty Swollocks reacted to Animal is a Ram in Drum in South Upper Block D
    I think it's a bit of a shame.
Further evidence that some in the South are only there because it's one of the cheaper areas. That being said, I used to play the drums and can fully understand not wanting it in close proximity.
It does feel a bit 'what do you want?' when people complain about a lack of atmosphere - but then complain about what fans are trying to do to combat it, without actually offering any alternatives.

Indeed mate and top post. Just trying to improve things to ultimately make our team better. This goes back to the very first meeting I had with Cloughie over it all back in the late 00's.

A minority. Only 1 person at the time said something to Adam and he knew him. No one complained to stewards at the time... Very much a reactive complaint. Plan was always if Adam got heat during the game he was going to leave area..

I agree Tombo. Didn't help when McGoldrick was joining in though at Exeter away last season........ He must know.

AGREE! Then players cocks came along....
Saddens me to say but I find the younger generation dont like the original club songs like We are Derby etc .. Kind of feels that they need to sing all this European lark all the time.. Don't get me wrong there is a place for some of them songs but sure we can all agree old school songs about your club are the best.

Very valid fair point at the end there. Just seems everything anyone tries to do is shot down because a minority few dont agree with it hence why I keep banging on about 3 other stands. I could understand if this all of a sudden popped up in the East or West Stand for example.
Atmospheres at football are dying in England except for a few clubs that are doing something about it. Even Arsenal. I mean come on.....

Its really not a case of someone just tunelessly smashing a drum all game though is it... Its joining in with said song at the time and again I question if you are not joining in with the song what's the point of being there.
It has been mentioned about making a special block available in Block D for example but this would mean turning fans out of there seats who want to be there - hardly a win win. There are no available seats, this is the issue.
It's not about the other end of the ground hearing it.

They need to take a poll of the whole block and go with the majority. Simple enough.

So you have the option of moving to 3 other stands. Fair compromise?
    It's hardly people going deaf.
I would question why anyone would be in the South Stand that would be too focused on someone banging a drum, they should be joining in singing to not even be bothered by that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the South Stand was introduced alongside the drum. Was part of it.
Issue i have ... Wigan game .. Not one moan on the socials of it in the stands yet actual complaints into the club via calling them and emails.
Rhythm has been completing wrong last few years as down below and I am sure we can both agree that its absolutely pointless down there.
Its simply there to keep tempo going.

I dont even sit with the guys mentioned Tombo.
What i meant by the cancel culture. Zero complaints in 3 years where the drum originally was to many complaints after 1 game. Everyone feels the need to complain and whinge about everything these days. You could argue I am doing the same mind but thats a reaction.
I dont think for one minute I was saying it was. Please dont try and put me or 'my pals' on that pedestal. Trying to improve the atmosphere for everyone. Kind of the atmosphere that gets that little bit more out of the players to help us win games. It helps. Ask the players.

Betty Swollocks reacted to Yoxoram in Max Bird
This is a joke. Surely, I know stats aren't everything but if you are comparing players who perform in similar positions then it is not unreasonable to take them into account.
Last season: Hourihane 44 games, 7 goals, 10 assists (4th in League 1 for chances created and 5th for assists). Bird 38 games, 1 goal, 4 assists.
I know who I'd be picking first on the team sheet if we want to get promotion.

If his agent or the lad himself have expressed a desire to leave then get a good deal for the club and bring people in who want to be here the same for all the players there is no loyalty in football anymore.
But I wouldn't want to join hull because Liam will be one of the first casualties if there results keep going the way they are 2 losses already one against the mighty doncaster

Hull are rumoured to be selling Tetteh to a Turkish club for £/€1.5m, perhaps that’s helping fund a renewed bid for Bird.
I’ll be disappointed if this one happens as I really like Bird as a player. I agree with some observations that he could be affecting games more, but for me the maturity and composure he shows for someone still relatively young, along with his touch and range of passing are admirable.
However, as I’ve said many times before, players come and go so if he leaves I’d wish him well and hope there’s still the option to strengthen the midfield further….or we really will be up a creek with barely a kayak let alone a paddle!

Betty Swollocks reacted to Loughborough Ram in Martyn Waghorn - signed a 1-year deal
Having heard Warne say yesterday, that if Waghorn accepts the deal he would expect it to be completed in the next 6 or 7 hours, I'd imagine that the more time that passes, the less likely it is to happen.

Not a cat in hell's chance that we let James Collins go unless we were to sign 3 forwards first, this is a complete non-story.

    New permanent striker this window.....
    Washington!
Knight is a funny one as he didn't have much of an impact when he played midfield,  how many games was he central? He's been replaced as a right back/rwb, which also frees Smith to play central mid and we aren't likely to play with wide midfielders.
The only thing we lose with Knight is his energy, but Washington will replace a lot of that, Smith also covers a lot of ground in midfield and Bird has been let of the leash and looks fitter than ever, look at the goals against Stoke and Birds involvement and tell me you'd still rather Knight play in that role, because I wouldn't.
Try to look for positives for a change, rather than be the harbinger of doom!

Betty Swollocks got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Matt Godden
I honestly cant see him coming here as
    a) There will be clubs in the Championship interested
    b) Cov will most likely demand a decent fee
    c) He will want a large wage which may break our wage structure?

Why don't we gazump them and sign the young lad up? https://www.watfordfc.com/magazine/features/getting-to-know-james-collins
Wasn't it the 1986 World Cup when the England fans were singing "Two Trevor Stevens - there's only two Trevor Stevens"? A contender for best footy chant of all time, and one we could replicate!
