  1. It’ll be funny when he gets a better job at a bigger club, Crystal Palace or Bournemouth perhaps, and stays in the Premier League a lot longer than Notts Forest.
  2. "Goal John-Jules, goal, goal..." The rest of the lyrics might be quite hard seeing as we can't even sing Steve Bloomer's Watching in time...

Will always be one of the 'fond' memories of our admin period. Of course, the EFL look out for clubs, though. How dare you want to sign a 39-year-old on for another 6 months on 4 grand a week. That simply is not allowed!
  4. Really argumentative, moderators sigh. Forum version.
  5. The Vale keeper is in the “team of the week” for yesterday which is an indicator that we were better than the scoreline suggests.
  6. Really important night for us tomorrow. Firstly because we need to start showing some consistency in results. I didn’t think we played very well on Saturday, but in the end we beat a side who were in good form. There’s no point then following that up with a poor result against a worse side who are in poor form. On top of that, the other fixtures include Oxford v Bolton and Stevenage v Peterborough. Four of the five teams above us play each other, so we’re guaranteed to make ground on at least two of the 5 if we win. Hopefully we end the night a bit closer to the top 2 and use that confidence to finally push on.
  7. I do think that being a “big team” in this league does help. Teams are happy to leave with a point. But we can be rubbish and so can they. If it was a draw I would feel aggrieved because we were better in the second half, but the first was as 0-0 as you can get. I think as soon as we went with the three CBs, it gave them more impetus. We did well to go straight back on the front foot after conceding, but that was mostly because of Fornah. We edged it in the end but there’s still a lot of room for improvement.
  8. Rubbish first half. Seriously rubbish, the only positive was the B4 applause. I heard a lot of people talking about him around me in the ground and it was actually a very emotional experience. Second half was better, but Rovers were dire throughout which helped. I don’t want to call Korey Smith a scapegoat because my interpretation of the word is someone who undeservedly gets singled out for criticism. Cutting him for Fornah made the world of difference. We wouldn’t have 3 points without Fornah. Likewise, I thought Wilson was positive and had a good performance off the bench, so credit to Warne for the changes, but before that the entire game was dire. Did we deserve the 3 points? Maybe, just. But only because Rovers came for a point and weren’t really very good in trying for it. We’re six points off autos, but we are going to have to improve a lot before we get there.
  9. 3-0 Derby. Max Bird FGS, hitting the net on 38 minutes.
  10. Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham, Maddison; Saka, Kane, Foden.
  11. He'll either win us a lot of penalties, or get booked a lot for simulation.
  12. Yep, it’s a no-win situation for us. Even having to play them will be bad enough, but if we lost it would be the most embarrassing point in the rivalry. I’d rather have gone out in the groups if it turns out we have to play them next. Even if we pump them 5-0, there’s zero bragging rights.
  13. Based on the names and the scoreline, I'd guess this was one of the FA Cup final defeats. Not a clue on the year or the opponents though, which isn't too helpful for this game.
  14. Excellent timing for Everton, if it had to happen at all. They've had their deduction and they're only just in the relegation zone. They need to match Burnley's results, get 1 more point than Sheff Utd and 2 more than Luton and they're safe. There's no chance they'll go down. If they had this deduction last season, they'd have been 8 points off safety, the quality at the bottom is dreadful this year. It's a warning signal to other sides in the PL who may look to overspend but not actually achieve anything. You pump all that money in to things to stay in the PL, only to get a points deduction if you spend too much and possibly go down anyway.
  15. The inconsistency is so frustrating. It completely negates good performances and good results when you follow it up with rubbish. Teams that are this inconsistent either aren't coached well or can't be arsed. Neither are a good sign.
  16. It's now 5 subs but you can only stop the game 3 times. Half-time subs would be fine because you haven't stopped the game, but we made subs at 52', 75' and 85'. So even though we only made 3 of our 5 subs, the other two would've had to come on at the same time as Sibley.
  17. Enthuiasm, positivity and just blind-faith. His life was Derby County. His rallying cries will be sorely missed. I would love it if we really are coming for you, Pompey.
  18. It's funny because there was absolutely no reason why he couldn't just head it in. He took the harder option to show off. Just like when players score with rabonas or back-heels, it's done to show off that extra flair and talent. I'm no longer sure if James Collins was born in Coventry, or Rio de Janeiro.
  19. At least we're not Reading! 2-0 up at Shrewsbury and conceded two in injury time to lose 3-2. It does make you wonder what could've happened to us after being relegated with financial struggles. A good owner can make a lot of difference..
  20. It would be nice to give Weston and Robinson a decent run-out now.
