  1. Stupidly soft goal to give away, out of nothing too. Got to dig in again now.
  2. Quality from Barkhuizen by the way, backtracking and managed to pick Collins out with a header despite 3 defenders being around him.
  3. It's OK, you can put the James Collins poster up on your wall now
  4. Well-deserved lead. We've done well finding space and there should hopefully be even more now that Burton will have to be a little more expansive, not that they've exactly "parked the bus" so far though. A second before HT would be lovely.
  5. Fozzy in the dugout in conversation with Paul Warne and Richie Barker, future coach in the making?
  6. Happy with the team, stronger than I expected given the reported absentees we had. Wilsonaldinho may have to move slightly further back but I can’t wait to see him tear Burton’s left-flank apart 😍
  7. It’ll look even better with the Brian Clough Trophy in his hands this time next year.
  8. I think CBT and Michael Smith would be good signings and fill gaps where we're lacking in this team. If we can also add a younger, mobile CM, even if it's someone like Charlie Savage who wouldn't necessarily be a starting player week in, week out, then that should hopefully be enough. Going forward for the rest of the season I'd like to use Korey Smith as a back-up RB, I think he has looked better there than he has in the middle and offers more stability than Ward or Wilson who are more attacking. It would give us the attacking options of NML, CBT, Wilson, Ward, Barkhuizen, Collins, Smith and TJJ. That might end up being too many, but we'd win games from the strength of our bench alone. We didn't have depth last season and it cost us because we looked knackered by the end. If we don't have that problem, then there's no reason we can't finish top 2 this year.
  9. I know, but what happens if next time, there's 16 minutes played and it's 0-1 to Derby, or they wait til later in the game when there has been goals? If there are going to be different sanctions depending on the scoreline then it just encourages them to get the games abandoned as early as possible to get their point across. They want their owners gone, I think any punishment such as fines will just encourage it to happen again as it's hitting the owners. I think the EFL will have to punish the Club in a way that has a negative impact on the team to try and deter the fans, if it continues it just makes the whole ordeal embarrassing for them. Docking them points and consigning them to relegation is the obvious outcome, if you start gifting the opposition the three points then those who have already played at Reading will feel aggrieved, it's a tough one.
  10. Probably a bit of both to be honest. The EFL and bad owners go hand in hand.
  11. Posted in a different thread, but it'll be interesting to see the punishment for Reading after the abandonment today. We're their next home game, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the same happen in our game. Fully behind them sticking two fingers up to the EFL, but it may not end up in the best of trips for any of those making the Tuesday night trip down to Reading...
  12. Neither are promotion rivals, but I didn't think it was worth its own thread. It'll be interesting to see how the EFL deal with the Reading v Port Value abandonment. Reading's official Twitter put out on more than one occasion that they'd risk serious sanctions if the fans didn't leave the pitch, ultimately they didn't and the game was abandoned. It's relevant for us, because of course we're their next home game. I don't know if there's been any precent set on this sort of thing before, but if they ultimately end up awarding Port Vale the 3 points, then it'll be interesting to see if Reading fans do the same against us, as they'd know they're risking another loss. I think it's more likely to be a fine and/or points deduction with the game to be replayed at a later date, in which case any who are heading to Reading, I hope you get to see the full game...
  13. By the last day of last season, are you referring to the JCH links? It's no secret that Brighton wanted Cashin and he very nearly went but time ran out. I'm sure we had some deals lined up with the money we would've made from that sale, but it's a domino effect. Like I said, Paul Warne could ring you up and tell you we're signing X, Y and Z. Not all three would sign though, all it takes is one thing to change at the last minute and deals can be off. Even if Big Trav was the bloke who takes the photos of the signings holding scarves above their heads, it doesn't mean it'll 100% happen. Players have had their photoshoots done before and then gone off and signed someone else. I don't believe/expect every single link from BT will come off, but I also don't think that he's plucking the names out of thin air or 'ITK' Twitter accounts.
  14. Why was it embarrassing? Paul Warne has spoken a lot about how so many little things need to happen to get a transfer over the line, even out of his hands. He could make an account on this forum and tell us who we were going to sign based on his knowledge, and he still wouldn't have a 100% success rate. Journalists report deals that will happen all year round, this time of year it's relentless, they don't all happen. However these journalists make a living reporting this, whereas people like Big Trav post things because it hopefully brings a bit of positivity. People like signings, and like talking about them otherwise the transfer threads wouldn't attract so much interest. I'm not a fan of people who pretend to be ITK just for a bit of attention like you see a lot on Twitter, but BT has proven he does have some contacts or inside knowledge with what he's told us before. Just because every bit of information he gets doesn't result in a signing, doesn't mean it's embarrassing or deserves constant snipes.
  15. If we end up paying that for a player with 6 months on his contract, who has no track record above League 1 and not from a promotion rival, then we can’t be as cash strapped as is being made out. £250k isn’t a small fee at this level. I don’t begrudge spending that for him, as I think he’s a good player, it would just surprise me.
  16. 19 points, possibly 22 when on equal games played. They’d have to make up over a point a game. Barring a total collapse, they aren’t catching us. If Barnsley win their game in hand, they’d have to make up nearly a point per game to just get into the top 6. They could sign Mbappe and they still wouldn’t get promoted this season.
  17. And Posh, knew I’d jinx it! Ah well, win by two against Burton and we’re 2nd, a point off top and a game in hand, could be worse!
  18. Chrissy Martin has equalised for Rovers against Barnsley. Other than Oxford, things are going pretty well for us today.
  19. I think it’s very unlikely CBT commands a few like that with so little left on his contract. Isn’t that what Alfie May went for with a year left on his contract and a better track record? I can’t see us even offering anywhere near that if the moneys that tight anyway.
