On the tea theme - cafes which give you teapots that no matter how slowly you pour, still dribble down the outside of the spout and half your cuppa ends up as a lake in the middle of the table!

Where I used to work people used to bring curry and stuff to the canteen and stink the place out with garlic, it made me gag.
People who run from the back of their check out queue when they open a new checkout so they get to the front, usually with a look like 'ooh look at me, I'm wide awake and on it, you losers'
companies that take your wad of money then refuse to communicate when you have a problem with their goods
I'm contributing far too much to this topic.

I do do it, most of the time. Emptying it is a job I hate, so if the system is followed it makes it quicker and easier to empty.
It's not rockect science. Just put all the same items together, so they can be easily grabbed and put back in the cupboards with the minimum fuss. But no, that's too hard for some people who would rather mix plates of different sizes and mix up the cutlery.
Of course now she does it for a lark just to annoy me. She's so funny.

No excuses, you know what shop you're in, and how you're going to pay!
Shopping on the belt, bags ready and cards out, it's a maximum of 2, payment and loyalty!
Shopping piled in the bag, obviously leaving the eggs till last, than a quick shuffle of the payment card and points card, anything more than a 5 second delay = instant death!
Sounds harsh, but think what you could do with those extra minutes!

People who have obviously never been shopping before, who act with complete surprise when the checkout worker asks them to insert their card, wasting valuable seconds while they root around in their handbag for a purse, then shuffle through 10 cards to find the correct one.

No, we don't accept Blockbuster video cards, madam, seeing as they went bust a decade ago.
Neither do we accept Tesco club card vouchers either, seeing as you're in Sainsbury's, you tight fisted ****.
I'd honestly allow each hand held laser scanner to be loaded with a round of live ammunition, to be fired into the forehead of the 1st ******** each day to feign suprise at being asked to pay for their goods, for the good of society as a whole.

Matt Edmondson is by far the most irritating individual ever to be allowed on the radio.  His voice wants to make me cut my ears off, blend them and pour the resulting mulch down the toilet!!!  Other than him, I still enjoy Radio 1, however I'm getting scarily close to finding the songs they play indistinguishable from each other and switching to Radio 2.  At which point I will buy myself a pipe and tartan slippers because I'll be officially old...

    Energy Tarrifs
energy is a amazingly simple it's priced per KWH .. Just like petrol is priced per litre
so why do we have a zillion Tarrifs all designed to hide the basic price
I mean do you look at the price of petrol at Tesco and see the price displayed as "save 15%" .. 15% of what ? Is there a. Standing charge when you buy petrol from Sainsbury or BP ? Is there a penalty if you pay cash ?
Despite the regulators efforts the price lists are so opaque and deliberately confusing it is laughable.
    for me ... 3 prices
    1) our price
    2) price for the vulnerable supported perhaps by govt
    3) price for naughty boys and girls because they don't pay or cause problems
maybe a discount for signing up for a long term deal  or paying by DDR but that's your lot.
Biggest scam around, price ring, nothing more nothing less

    Americanisms:
Saying May 6 instead of 6th May or May the 6th. Especially bad on film & Sport adverts
When did TV series' become seasons instead?. I hate that rather a lot.
Black Friday - for being a pointless American shopping import that just ***** up Christmas for the retailers and a stupid "brand" again.

News reports that state 'Joe Bloggs, 46, an unemployed warehouse worker from Allenton, has been remanded into custody and will appear before magistrates in a month'.
Show some ambition man, if you're jobless you might as well be an unemployed astronaut rather than a redundant stock picker!

I know what you mean. I was amused rather than annoyed by the fact the EU in/out campaigns had to officially name their campaigns as "Vote Leave" and "Britain Stronger In Europe". Do they think people are that thick?

......following on from the annoying people thread
Why does everything nowadays have to be "dubbed as" something.
Just reading on BBC News that today has been "dubbed as 'Super Thursday'" because of the elections. Why?. By Whom?. Why do we need everything to effectively have a Brand?
Don't get me started on why every scandal has to be .....gate?
I realise it's lowest-common-demonator stuff dreamed up by a lazy media copying a USA format but it does my head in.

A couple of months ago I bought a beautiful 9carat gold Automatic Garrard watch as supplied th the top Royals. It has Quartz like accuracy and I had a squid change from £200. Lovely watch. Great investment IMO. Came from EBay in original box with it's original case, and warranty.

I admire them but they sometimes seem a little vulgar to me, but each to his own ! ?
phoenix, mine is slim and light . It is about the thickness of a pound coin and that includes the glass. The movement which is self winding is 2.1mm thick. Fascinating to look at.

I can make some inquiries about those straps. I'll let you know about that.
I must say my favourite is the Bremont U2 Blue Dial. It is modified ETA but it has some great aspects when used in rough circumstances.
I also have this golden vintage dress watch in mint condition from 1969 by Glycine. Haven't come across with another one anywhere.

That was my gut feeling too.
I am no collector but I do like watches and always have done. I have a modern Seamaster planet Ocean that I wear every day and another of Dads and old 18ct bump automatic omega circa 1950 .. It says Seamaster but my watch mending man says it isn't waterproof

Cisse .. I have an audemars piget skeletal automatic. 2120s calibre.. Thinnest auto movement ever made 18ct 21ct rotor .. Early 1970's I think. It was my Dads .. It's round though and to be honest it is difficult to read. It is a work of art though.

An AP is always an AP. Vintage watches are still in demand and the size wise I believe huge watches are already past their peak. Financial times are hard everywhere and since I don't know the actual model it's hard to say but I would expect it be about £3000-£4000 with the right buyer.
