If anyone can get Marriott up to speed it is - Wayne Rooney.

I think Cocu was too slow to integrate players. He always seemed to have them training for 6 weeks or so first. He might have come in eventually but I much prefer the way Rooney is managing players and sticking them in. Ibe wouldn’t have had a chance the other week without him.
At Xmas will we be looking for a replacement for Kazim or a back up. If we get nobody and Kazim gets I hired then we are back to square one.

Unstoppable tonight. Our very own Drogba. Did any player deserve less than 9 out of 10 today. Played exactly how they were asked to play.

What about the Mac 3 fan club?
There are vacancies. Mach3 picked the team. I just made that up but Iwas first with the fake news.

There is a waiting list, back off JJ. Age before beauty

Got sacked by Derby for a reason.
He would take it to Mach 3

His qualities have been more apparent since he left. Shinnie has a bit of the same, as does Bielik but bradders was the proper old school second division wreaking ball.
I liked him, although I got frustrated with him a lot.
Always rated Bradley. Just play players in their best positions ALL the time.

With my infinite (ahem) football knowledge I feel duty bound to compensate for some of the schoolboy errors made on this thread by suggesting the following formation.

Admittedly harsh on Whittaker but you're welcome.
Substitutes, where are they.

Good night
Hard day's Knight. All over the pitch.

Look, I have nothing better to do. Assuming a squad size of eg 30 or whatever, I want to know EXACTLY how many combinations of best elevens are possible. We have had most of them on here. Go to it maths experts. Does not include Rooney in goal etc. You know you need the answer. COYR

I think that's probably our best team on paper. It's a hard one to call, though.
It'll be interesting see how Ibe does, how our promising youth develops, and how things change when we bring in a striker. With Rooney on top form that formation looks cracking to me, EFE. Maybe Ibe for Waggy. Forsyth on a good day.

I have yet to see two posters pick the same best eleven.

Could potentially end up with this by the time we next play:
Marshall
Byrne, Davies, Clarke, Buchanan
Bielik
Ibe, Knight, Shinnie, Jozwiak
AustinNot too bad at all! Knight and Shinnie have to keep their place. Let the defenders defend instead of being too intricate at the back. Bielik sitting in DM when we have the ball and CB when we don't.
We have a very nice squad now but I could not pick a team or formation but assuming all are fit and playing well the first names on the team sheet would include:-
Marshall, Clarke, Byrne, Davies, Knight, Jozwiak, Ibe, Lawrence,
Struggling after that - spoilt for choice really

Yes, Bielik needs to be the midfield enforcer ?
The sheer glaring lack of agreement on picking this team makes it clear why Cocu keeps swapping and changing.

And then repeat with our remaining players if possible to show where we do not have natural cover.

Maybe Lawrence could play in a midfield 3 if we were more of a counter attacking team like under Lampard, I think him and Holmes would be good running at the opposition on the counter, but Phil wants us to be a possession based team and I don't think he has the passing ability or range to play there in this style. It's a shame we don't play counter attacking football because I think it would really suit players like Lawrence, Holmes and Marriott and with Rooney's ability to ping passes into space, but that's not the managers style of play unfortunately.
Can someone pick an eleven where each player is in their preferred position, even if some likely starters are not included

Our squad is getting increasingly large, which doesn't make it easy to pick a side. Hopefully a mix of grit and creativity:
Marshall
Byrne Wisdom Clarke Shinnie
Bielik Bird
Ibe Lawrence Jozwiak
Dursun*
Subs: Selection from: Roos Evans MTW Sibley Knight Rooney Waghorn Holmes Marriott
Duncan to step up when fit
Davies squad cover only
* Presuming Dursun joins
I've probably missed someone really obvious out ? The youth players are starting to slip back out of contention though, which Mel wouldn't be happy about
Better than my attempt., OR.

Forgot Bielik so as above but Bielik for Forsyth to start with until Bielik proves himself fit again.
Also forgot Sibley and Holmes. Get another LB and we have two teams that could stay up or finish in top 10 or bottom 3. If you have any questions, ask someone else. Thank you, good day.

Appreciate trying to fit everyone in is difficult, verging on impossible, but Sibley not even making the squad is a bit harsh. And Dutch Mike, even though he's had a nightmare start, isn't going to improve by not playing. Not a criticism, just a comment.
Dutch Mike can try to keep the new signings at bay in training to improve for the minute.

Sibley omission was a mistake. Dutch Mike was not. Sibley for Knight then. All the best Cocu. I cannot even pick a squad never mind a team. Danger of Academy players being squeezed back out again. Over to you, OR.
Realistically ,New transfers in January????
