I worry about 3 or 4 of our players playing 3 times in a week. Can't be risking CKR or Davies on a Mickey Mouse cup game.

Need to try a couple of others out in pro games too, bearing in mind how threadbare our squad is.

    For me it's

    Allsop

    McDonald Stearman Forsyth Shinnie

    Bird Hutchinson

    Ebosele Sibley Morrison

    Stretton

Bench: Roos, Byrne, Davies, Williams, Brown, Watson, Lawrence

Do not risk Davies in this one.

    My team would be:

                            Allsop

    Byrne  Cashin   Davies   Buchanan

                Thompson Shinnie

    Ebosele    Sibley    Morrison

                   Stretton

This team is by no means weak but preserves some of our first teasers for Peterborough away.

I believe all of these count as professional players. I think it’s wise to rest where we can given our lack of a squad. Would like to keep Jozwiak in to build up confidence with hopefully a good performance against easier competition, but I think Wayne will go with Lawrence. Horrible to say but going out of the cups early this season wouldn’t be the worst thing, although I’m a strong believer in the momentum that wins can bring.

Stay in the cup this time and give more practice to young players

If that's all you took from the post I don't know what to say.

If there's little to no prospect of a player's performances improving, due to a number of factors including the fans being on his back then persisting with them doesn't seem beneficial to anyone.

Do you see any potential for a massive turnaround in fortunes for Jozwiak in our current setup? I don't.

Shortly after arriving at the club, I seem to remember Joz saying that he preferred playing attacking football but thought that we were playing mainly defensive football.

Another perspective and some mitigating factors (in no particular order):

    • COVID19
    • Backed his managers
    • Cancer treatment
    • Blaggers trying to takeover the club
    • Selling academy players not necessarily his choice (i.e. they can go if they want to via tribunal)
    • Sam Rush

I'm not saying he hasn't made mistakes but my take on it is he showed ambition but due to a number of factors, it clearly didn't work. I think it's harsh to be say everything he's done is wrong. It's not like he tried to rob the club as previous owners have. He took a shot... he missed. If we had Clough here playing durge-ball you'd all be moaning about the lack of ambition probably.

We are trying to sign players.

We are trying to solve the issues with EFL.

We are trying to get taken over.

Not a great deal we fans can do to aid these issues being resolved.

Let us get behind the team and enjoy the football as much as we can.

You know what is great about this thread … we aren’t quite as threadbare as we thought we were.

Looking at everyone’s suggestions .. Bielik to come back later in the season. Knighty and Buchanan on the mend. The Sibley question, Watson starting to look more than elementary. Alternatives of Joz and Festy …. We are slow up top but that aside we have a team

Watson is better than Holmes was.
