In a way I am semi serious. Gibson tends to part on good terms with managers. It must have been very special to win that pot. It’s foolish to think they wouldn’t have a great bond and had a chat or two.

It is using passive drugs dogs who can screen people going into stadiums.
Sadly Derby wouldnt want to probably either use it or pay for it but it's a massive deterrent.

Admin have been on talk sport said there had been six credible offers and last night a seventh from America with over $1 billion dollars in it's funding also lots of clowns on e mail making offers.
Also said they will ask for proof of £5 million in a Uk bank account non refundable before allowing anyone to proceed to negotiate and they hope to get a deal over the line in the next 90 days.
Also four local business had offered to loan funds to keep the club ticking over.

The problem with the GSE ownership is that it was unsustainable. With Glick in post they were trying to reduce wage costs to break even and we finished in the bottom half every season. Crowds were falling and there was no growth achieved in revenues. They were never able to break even and had to constantly put extra cash in.
When Rush came in he convinced them to loosen the purse strings a little. Nigel was able to bring in better players, which eventually led to the McLaren play off team. The losses were increasing even at this point though and most of GSE's investors wanted out.
I would hope that Appleby would return a little older and wiser. With the economics of the Championship, the only route to sustainability is promotion. OK, it might be a few years before it's an issue for us, but I do wonder if the best plan might be doing it in cycles? Two years of high spending to try to achieve promotion, followed by two years of cost cutting to create P&S headroom, for the next cycle.

Oh absolutely agree, Nigel did a good job in the circumstances up to a point.
But his limitations regarding attractive football were exposed as soon as McClaren showed you could play exciting, attacking football with essentially the same players.
    Also, agree on Rooney.

This has been a slow burner for me....but I am now really angry at his actions. The vast majority of his wealth is still in tact but he lets the Rams go to the wall through his own incompetence. Despicable......

Dawes had nothing to lose from not asking those questions once he is in there, live on air.
Mel's not in a position to freeze any journalists out anymore.
I'm one of the few who hadn't got a major issue with Dawes and I expect he will ask the relevant questions.

Ive never been a big fan of Rooney and have been critical of him throughout his time at Derby,in both roles, but today he impressed me with his humility and consideration for the hundreds of staff who are facing redundancy at the club.
In addition he continued to express his loyalty to the club and seemed to mean it.
I'm slowly warming to him through these difficult times.

Hey B4. MSD stands for "Michael Saul Dell" and is the investment company owned by this American who founded and is Chairman of Dell Computers. Sometimes on the forum they're referred to as "Dell" instead of "MSD", as in the Dell v Mell thread.
We don't know what their intentions are. MSD has leant money to several football clubs at high interest rates because football tends to lose owners money and these owners find it difficult to borrow elsewhere to keep their clubs going. Given that, I think it highly unlikely MSD would want to step in and own the Rams (and start losing money instead). But we just don't know.
What we do know is that Derby's finances are highly complicated and MSD has a significant stake and role to play.

I simply quoted a fellow poster who's been one of the most reliable sources of insider info on the club on here and also on other forums in the past. No idea who @Super Derby Super Rams's sources are and I'm sure he wouldn't reveal them!

kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong reacted to Miggins in Mel Morris interview on Radio Derby 1pm
According to Radio Derby the interview was to discuss the events of the last 48 hours, the events of the last couple of years which culminated in Friday nights statement and then to talk about the club going forwards. As such the failed deals are important background as to where the club is now. He said that he decided to sell the club around June 2019 and was determined to find the best possible owner. They thought the club had been almost sold in January 2020 but because of the EFL charges the deal collapsed. In December 2020 contracts had been exchanged but the funds did not materialize and so he was left to finance the club again. Then in February 2020 Covid struck. The club revenues dried up, there could be no face to face meetings with prospective owners, no visits and this made it very difficult to sell the club.
He said that selling a club is a horrendously difficult process and he hopes that the administrators have an easier time.
I apologise for any mistakes I might have made!
