  1. Looks set to be cold as balls for everyone going. Hopefully the team can keep you all warm. ...and remember, if you're cold, the're cold, so be kind to Burton fans, they often bark when they are afraid or unsure and it's sensible to keep a safe dstance if you encounter 1 that's loose, but many of them can be safety rehabilitated and rehomed. There are charities in the Burton-on-Trent area that deal with distressed Burton fans, and the accusations thay they got melted down to make tyres is completely unproven.
  2. I'm sure the tinderbox that is the teeside freeport will be commisioning extra fire extinguishers around about the same time the letter gets sent.
  3. OK, so I know WRC has been struggling for a while and mostly my thoughts of rallying are stuck in the 90s mixed with "oohh I've been playing a rally computer game" but I know enough to know they needed to do some things to shake it up. But this is bad...... You ask for a miracle, i give you the F.I.A....
  4. Derby 5 - 1 Burton Collins FRGS "It was a hard fought game in the first half, but getting the second just before half time was key, and I said to them at half time can you go on and take more goals? and to be fair to them, they did do that. Obviously, the referee helped but the Burton player, well you've only got yourself to blame if go in like that. Yes, yes it is a sparking light that I have had fitted to my bobble hat and yes, winning by 4 clear goals is an occasion to light it up."
  5. Didn't we get told by a Sunderland fan "he's just like that in every bit of club media" in his demeanor. Either way, it was unlucky for him and as it never had a chance to become anything there's nothing to much to say except I hope he gets fit and makes a career for himself.
  6. When do the clocks go forward? It's gonna be a grind until then.
  7. Sad news. I wish him all the best.
  8. He was totally committed to the forest project. It was an exciting chance to rinse £££££££ and do some tiktok.
  9. A sad for F1, i honestly feel like Alpine should hire him. They wouldn't improve but they'd be a lot more comedy value, which they have kinda underperformed on after the Alonso/Piastri high point. They even had Ocon and Gasly being ammacable co-workers they were that dull last season. In reality, I'm not that surprised, taking an objective look and getting past Gunther's influence in starting the project with Gene Haas, there have been some bad mis-steps from him along the way, particually with sponsors and some of the driver managment and the overall perception is unshakable that they've underperforming for quite a while now. They had taken the old Jordan/Force India mojo of overperforming on small budgets with a bit of chrisma and fun and just plumbed the depths, particually squandering last season's slightly improved outlook and falling right to back this season. The other interesting bit from Haas is that the technical director walked out as well over differences with Gene on the direction of the team. Some of it may be that Mr Haas has become tired of losing vast amounts on money on his F1 team, or it may be there's something more going on and he's thinking of selling it (there was surely a moment he could've just sold the thing to Andretti for a tidy sum), or perhaps he's looking for investors. Either way, I could see Haas getting sold or going terminal, especially if the let Andretti in.
  10. We could always loan Burton <insert scapegoat of the week> and demand he plays against us?
  11. It begins..... ....... ...... ...... ........ ....... !
  12. Budget is probably the limiting factor. The more money you have the mitigation you can do against darkness and weather. Those giant lighting arrays they run over pitches in the winter to encourage the grass to grow probably run up some electric bill, fancy semi-symthetoc pitch turf etc etc.
  13. Worry when we get there. We all know a decent championship team is very different to a very good league 1 team. We're probably going to have 10 or more signings this summer whichever way it goes.
  14. Oh no, are Burton fans allowed out after dark?
  15. Every generation attends church less the previous one and like all religious differences it's far more about power than theology. It only continues because folks believe there is no other way, that it can't be stopped, well, frankly it can.
  16. You don't see hoards of Gers and Tims laying aside their old differences to follow a revitalised Partic Thistle? The other option I guess would be to relocate them both to the South Orkney Islands to a fate of playing each other for all eternity. We could even get the daily record to do a coupon for one way tickets. Either way, the sectarian BS needs to go, it drags Glasgow down and achieves nothing.
  17. It's appalling in almost every conceivable way. But the worst is just the pathetic nature of the vast majority of it. That's why I propose a merger of the Glasgow clubs, to form a new club that is free from this legacy. It will be Particularly good and have a thistle as a traditional sign of the Scots diaspora. The revolution in Scottish football is the extinguishing of Celtic and rangers and the supremacy of Partic Thistle.
  18. Oh believe it, the old firm never disappoint in the levels of small mindedness, petty vendettas, whataboutism, and, ever new innovations in the field of bottom of the barrel (a new depth is never far away). By comparison this thread is Socrates and Plato debating the nature of Joe Worrall's metaphysical crappness.
  19. I've never been to Bradford, so I'll assume that it's like Leeds but with fewer redeeming features.
  20. Is that the real Paul scholars? And, no, he's not just fart about in a gym, he's got his tiktok influence to grow, an important diplomatic role in the middle East, pursue justice for sub-postmasters, revitalise the NHS...and lol, no,I don't think he's going to playing professional football for Barcelona.
  21. I'm pretty sure it's the case that business would be business now between the two clubs, but there's probably a bit more needle still there than would be in other negotiations than there might with ther clubs.
  22. My two thoughs about this being a good move are: NML probably believes we're going to be in the championship with us, and, the contract makes him too pricey for a rival or a championship club who'd like him as an option but don't think he'd be their main man.
  23. To be fair, I could offer my services to Barcelona and tweet about it.
