  1. You can now relax by sending yourself into a deep state of zen just using controlled breathing and staring at this hypnotic image Never noticed he had his cat toattooed on his neck before, that's sweet, isn't it.
  2. Sometimes it's to try to make sense of what's been described - I've not watched this incident but I remember when MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli was killed in a crash I didn't see it but none of the descriptions of it made sense to me (and i still had my motorbike at the time and was really puzzled) so I watched it, the poor guy was really really really freakishly unlucky - and I guess the same here. It's not necessary for morbid or voyeuristic purposes, but it's not something I'd take lightly myself.
  3. It's an outdated attitude that is slowly dieing out. Brighton have been targeted for it for ages and I doubt forest are have been the only club with some fans throwing that at them. Be who you want to be, love who you want to love as long as no one's getting hurt. I'm sure we're all going to do all we can for Dawnie when he transitions to being a Derby fan. I heard he's investigating having top surgery in Morocco.
  4. Good post. I particually enjoyed this bit. SO many people get caught up in statistics, when a statistic is just a number, what that number tells you, if it tells you anything at all, is the important part. But numbers being bigger or smaller is easy, having lots of numbers and churning them around to say the number is bigger or smaller is pretty easy, using statistics to interpret information and data into useful conclusions is the hard part, and football, like many other industries, I'm sure has no shortage of "very clever people" claiming to be the ones who can do that "turning data into powerful conclusions" bit. It's also easier to have "the numbers said to do this thing" as cover for your judgment I guess. Used well, statistics can be a useful and powerful tool, but they are only part of the toolkit but of themselves, they are just a number.
  5. Robbie Williams Cover band 0 - 2 Derby Hourihane FRGS "And through it all, Cash offered us protection, lot blocks and a defelction, when paul warne got it wrong, when waghorn saved me, I'm loving Sibley instead"
  6. Ferrari Ferrari-ed themselves out of P2 in the constructors championship. But the whole team will be galvanised to work super hard over the winter and come stronger so they can try to Ferrari Charles Leclerc out of a world championship.
  7. Every word of this, especially the "entertainment business" aspect of it. If it's a sport, sometimes it will be boring because someone is too good (see also Schumacher, Hamilton) but it has to retain it's credibility as a sport to make the spectecle worthwhile. Hopefully they keep the rules reasonably stable as the cars are converging on red bull and don't start doing short sighted "shake the grid up" things because their social media engaugment is slightly down. It's the job of the teams to beat Max/Red Bull not the job of the organisers to provide constant drama. The current formula does seem to offer reasonable racing and I think they have some ideas to make the tyres more consistent (which is the main current downsid IMO, getting the tyres to work is too narrow a window and once you're out of it you'd dead). Now I want no MotoGP spoilers, although the odds are very significantly one way on that one.
  8. And thank god that's over. Max didn't break sweat, he was so taking the piss to the point he said "ah, checo can pit ahead of me, i'm no caring" Leclerc got second and Russell 3rd, however the main entertainment of the race was how would Merc v Ferrari play out and had Perez not bungled an overtake crashing into norris to earn his 5 second penalty, he's have been on the podium and ferrari would've finished P2. To go from title contender after 5 races to his most dissapointing season since Mclaren is a hell of a ride for Perez. The other dramatic tension was could Yuki's good qualifying an 1 stop bring home the points to pip williams to 7th in the championship, it fell short in the end but was a fine effort for Tsunoda who once again had a better weekend than Ricciardo. And Alpine somehow anaged to channel ferrari in their handling of Gasly's race, being undercut by his team mate. Off season now unless you're into aussie V8s i guess. Hopefully 24 sees some more serious competition for Mr Verstappen.
  9. They doun't sound like they'd blend together well. Probably better working out a strategic approach, first conquer the JD with significant coke overmatch....
  10. A truce has been brokered by Fornah and NML to suspend the bombardment of the Paul Warne strip for 4 days. A spokeman said "The offensive will not stop until Derby County are promoted"
  11. Edited! Oh dear. Right, up against the why wall. All of them. OK, not NML. He can walk free.
  12. I think that's very lovely, Bradders goes over to paul warne's house and helps his wife make a soufle whilst the gaffa is hard at work devising tactical master plans and merticulusly reasearching players who used to play for him at rotherham.
  13. He's developed more pace? barely got above trundle when scoreing 20+ for us....
  14. Hello, I'd like to bet someone else's mortgage on Chris Martin scoring today please.
  15. I'm all for giving him the freedom of st Andrews, the football ground, not the town in Fife.
  16. Derby 2-1 Bristol Waghorn. "Nervous last 10 minutes"
  17. It's easier to forgive a pretty team for their failings that is one that isn't pretty. It's never really a one or the other trade off though is it, it's usually the manger's preferred style either gets results or it doesn't and if it doesn't get results, do they stick to their guns on style, or do they go (usually) back to basics and get a few wins onve the line.
  18. Not a single shot on goal today. not good eough. I know some say will "it's friday, you're being a tool" but to them I say, how much longer must we bare the indignity of being managed by paul warne?!
  19. Look at the magnificent noggin! you could just sprinkle some fresh corriander on it.
