  1. I still think both are off in January and this is about protecting their transfer value, but I would be very pleased if they both stay. If either of them stay but don't sign an extension, our only hope to hold onto them beyond this season is a promotion to the championship. You can call captain obvious I guess.
  2. Much as I usually want Australia to lose at every sporting endeavour, I'm highly amused that India managed to lose this one. Are they blaming the free Palestine guy for the loss?
  3. apparently it being in Las Vegas is a really big deal. Quite who it's a big deal for I'm not sure, but we've been told that about the head with a cicket bat for two weeks solid by F1 so i guess it's a big deal for F1?
  4. Agree with all of that. Despite my many misgivings about the whole thing, the race was fine, good even. I just hopr that F1 don't start drawing wrong conclusions about it "wow, lets make every race on impossibly slippy tracks......" I'm sure i don't understand motorsport anymore when Max was allowed to keep his position after turn 1, over taking off the track, forcing another driver driver off the track, leaving the track and gaining an advantage.....was the logic Leclerc was also off track...because max put him there.....and I'm not sure it was a penalty on george either if it was the one where max rammed it up the inside, that struck me as racing incident. Still, there was a good bit of racing and Leclerc did a good job, cheo actually did good too, although he got mugged (again) at the end. Shout outs to Ocon and Baby Stroll for navigating up to some heady heights, everyone else a bit meh. So, for future reference, ignor it til the GP starts and it'll be bareable.
  5. I really hope Leclerc gets a win here, but as you said, once DRS is enabled it's just going to be too easy for the fast cars to make up the ground. I'll put it this way, there's zero chance I'm dragging aching disease riddled body out of bed at 6am to watch it and also zero chance of me going into "no spoilers" mode. wake up whenver, check another verstappen easy win, watch the 6 minute highlights on youtube, hope next season is better. Las Vegas does nothing for me as a place, and even if it did, I doubt that'd make this race something special. A boxing match, NBA All stars, there are sports events that are very Vegas but i don't think this is it. Also, the bit about fans getting kicked out of the stands before FP2 then being offered a merch voucher is very cheap-ass (although, F1 cheapness is kind of expected)
  6. I'm usually happy clappy, so, yes, glass half full. I can see the team becoming somewhat effective if not particually lovable and being in the play offs. I've not completely got off the hedge on the "yeah, Warne will be fine, don't panic" side but I'm not close to leaping onto the "he must be removed and placed on trial for crimes against football - his brand of effort, cross it, more effort must never be allowed to darken the pride park pitch ever again" side either.
  7. He's about 3 gin and tonic's away from doing a rap dis track with Lewis - "Monaco's champions league, vegas is national league"
  8. Hell of a songsmith. Thoughts go out.
  9. That's probably the best bit. I've often mused that F1 in it's current form will eventually die, but "Grand Prix racing" as the top single seater motorsport category with open technical development will continue. And, no, I'm not going to big up FormulaE as being that replacment. But I agree, I think the Liberty Media era of F1 expansion is going to crash hard at some point (remember about 15 yars ago Nascar was blowing up huge then crashed), souless dustbowl races no one wants to be at that exist as ego trips and sportswashing for dictators. The vacuous endless hype, the gimmicks, the manufactured rivalries and drama, it's all so very limited in vision and it's fluff that once it's worn off leaves a tarnished version of what was once an actually impressive sport. They lucked out on 21 being a close season but even then they couldn't help themselves trying amp it up so much it ended up tainted.
  10. It's effectively they had to because if they didn't the other teams would challenge it, because it's in the way the rules are written and how could you justify not weakening the position of a competitor? Of course, the rules are written assuming that the track is fit to race on, which it clearly isn't and there isn't any exemption based on "unfit track" because that'd raise the question of why were they running on an unfit track. Essentially Ferrari will have to seek restitution by suing race control for declaring the track open.......it's so F1 it's unbelievable. I disliked the Vegas obsession before, I disliked this race before the start of the weekend. I'm open to giving it a fair shot, but everything about it, to me, is looking like this is going to be an epic fail. And as someone (forgot who) who drove the "ceaser's palace grand Prix" from the early 80s said on a podcast this week - the gambling on F1 just isn't there so it's not really ever going to be a Las Vegas thing. 10 years of this pish whilst great tracks are gradually dropped from the calenda never to return......
  11. Not going to lie, I'm highly amused by this development.
  12. Just make Keogh the captain. Neat way of making everyone happy.
  13. You can admit it to us, with every fibre of your being you'd rather be in the championship and basking in the nearness of your beloved rams. There's no point in lying to yourself about your true feelings for DCFC, even if you lie to us, to forest fans, your friends, your family....don't lie to yourself, lie back, bite your lips and close your eyes, take you away to pride park...
  14. " She's very talented and has a lot of positive aspects to her game but just didn't bring the aggression and hard running and over hit crosses that I demand in a Paul warne team" said Paul warne when asked if his wife should be in the starting 11 instead of Connor hourihane.
  15. Realistically, I don't think Mel Morris isn't expecting to get money or influance at DCFC. I do however think he probably is very interested in protecting his position in any liability/legal sense and given the complex and spraling labarinth of Mel-isms that permiated the club by the end the potential for things to still be a potential threat to Mel Morris may be there. I am no expert and have no knowledge, but that's my guess as to why MM would be interested in anything at DCFC. Although it could be he's technially owed some money as a creditor that he wants to get.
  16. Oh yeah, once he's under pressure it'll be back to the hilarious sweary crashy max we all love to hate.
  17. It's Vegas Baby! Yeah I'm not fussed either. F1 has had an obsession with "the TV shot of F1 cars racing down the los Vegas strip" for decades it seems like. It'll be trash. The hype will be trash. The track looks trash. That one TV shot of the strip. The race will most likely be trash. They've tried having a grand Prix in Vegas before. It sucked. However, I'm not alone in being grumpypants about it, so is mantrum throwing world champion max Verstappen. Hates sprints, hates Vegas, hates drive to survive...I may warm to him yet. In terms of actual racing, Perez can secure P2 in the driver's providing he doesn't soil himself. The most exciting part is going to be can alpha Tauri overtake Williams, the AT car is good now. The AT drivers are good now.
  18. No idea. My guess would be if it's not then you'll be able to get a ramsTV stream.
  19. I'm very sad to hear this news. I only knew B4 from this forum and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying his pre-match rallying crys were a highlight of every match and much beloved by many on here. In some ways it may seem small in the scale of things, posting on a football forum, but through here B4 brought joy and touching words to more than a few. I'm sure that reflects the man who those who knew, loved. My deepest condolances to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace Daniel, B4, forever a Ram.
  20. Oh I think they've got to stay with him. Give it time. Build the club in his image. Potato uber alles
  21. Oh it's easy, we only won because Barnsley are terrible enough to be a league 1 team.
  22. Warne out now. enough is enough. getting 2 more will probably keep him in a job a week.......<etc> 😁
