  1. Managed to get a ticket last season, only because it's a Tuesday night game again. Will be logging on in the morning to get my ticket. Also went to the Plymouth game last season, had a fan from Belper next to me who was absolutely smashed, so drunk he kept leaning into me trying to keep his balance.

  2. Portsmouth 15 games left, 8 home, 7 away. 7 of their remaining games against current top half teams including Oxford, Blackpool, Peterboro, Barnsley, Derby, Bolton and Lincoln.                                                                                                                                               Derby 16 games left, 9 home, 7 away. 8 of their remaining games against current top half teams including Stevenage, Barnsley, Bristol, Bolton, Northampton, Blackpool, Portsmouth and Orient.                                                                                                                               Bolton 18 games left, 8 home, 10 away. 10 of their remaining games against current top half teams including Northampton, Blackpool, Barnsley, Oxford, Derby, Stevenage, Bristol, Portsmouth and Peterboro.                                                                                                      Peterboro 17 games left, 9 home, 8 away. 8 of their remaining games against current top half teams including Blackpool, Northampton, Stevenage, Portsmouth, Orient, Oxford, Bristol and Bolton.                                                                                                                              Barnsley 17 games left, 8 home, 9 away. 8 of their remaining games against current top half teams including Orient, Derby, Bolton, Lincoln, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Northampton and Stevenage.                                                                                                                   Stevenage 18 games left, 10 home, 8 away. 8 of their remaining games against current top half teams including Bristol, Derby, Lincoln, Peterboro, Orient, Bolton, Oxford and Barnsley.

I have only included the current 6, Oxford & Blackpool could still make the top 6 to achieve a play-off spot. Interesting last games of the season is Portsmouth away to Lincoln, Derby home to Carlisle, Bolton away to Peterboro, Barnsley home to Northampton with Stevenage home to Cheltenham.                                                                                                                                                                                                  Stevenage probably have the easiest fixtures to play and Bolton look to have the hardest run in, but we all know it does'nt work that way.

Injuries will play a big part on how the teams will pan out come the end of April. Derby getting Waghorn, Washington and Forsyth back in the next few weeks could make a difference. I'm going to sit on the fence at this stage and hope this thread is still going when we get down to 6-8 games to go. Then we can make a better guess on what will happen.

We could of kept brown tho. At least until we managed to sign someone. I do think its a good move for brown but if we dont get someone on a free now we are struggling

The Brown loan to Gateshead includes a 28 day notice call back, but if Collins gets injured this Saturday, we would wait 4 weeks to get him back!!!!

  4. Charlie George was a brilliant signing in the summer of 1975. Scored a hat-trick against Real Madrid ( I might be wrong, but still to this day the only Englishman to get 3 in one match against them). Got his one and only England cap whilst playing for Derby, only got 60mins playing out of position on the wing. When he got subbed, I do believe he had an arguement with Don Revie and never got picked again.

  5. Well currently Bolton have been the most consistent team and Peterboro have been smashing out the points in the last 10-12 games. But football is a funny old game ( I loved Jimmy Greaves). Bolton may have games in hand, but they have to win them. They still have to play 10 teams from the current top half of the table in their remaining 19 matches and 7 of them matches are teams currently in the top 7.

Peterboro are still in the EFL trophy having won tonight, so that could be a distraction. They have 8 matches against the current top half teams and 4 of those fixtures are against teams in the top 7 positions. Their last 3 games look interesting, with Oxford (a), Bristol (a) and Bolton at home.

The Rams have only 7 fixtures against the top half table teams and only Stevenage (h), Barnsley (a), Bolton (h) and Pompey away to play. Its all going to be down to results against the teams around you, keeping key players uninjured and good referee decisions in key games. Asking me now, I would say Derby will finish 3rd and agreeing with you that Bolton and Posh could grab the top two. I think this subject as come a little early, the transfer window is not shut and there is a fair few games to go. Ask me again when we only have 9 or 10 games left and I might change my predictions.

We brought in upwards of 6 players in the summer with either an injury joining or have been heavily injury prone in the past. Tell me where the smart management is in that? Why keep harping on in interviews that you want pace power and athletism and to bring the age down and then go out and look at players who’s profile are the complete opposite and older than what we already? Instead of spouting the warne fault blah blah at least validate your point!

I think them 6 players that Warne wanted have all been a gamble. The latest rumour news is we are still talking to Sheff Weds about having Mike Smith or Lee Gregory on loan, it all stinks of deseperation by Warne. He stated in an interview he wants to bring youngster in and is looking at either a 32 yr od or a 35 yr old. He sent Brown off to Gateshead at a time when we only have one fit striker. I don't get it with his thinking. All 3 strikers out injured and he also wanted to send Weston out on loan (I think he refused). Please sumbody wrap Collins up in cotton wool.

    As the song went...

Those were the days, my friend
    We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
    We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way...But times have changed 👎

I'm glad you named Dave Mackay, after Brian Clough the football was just as good with him in charge, plus we won the title for our 2nd and last time.

My son-in-law plays 6 aside football and every year around October or November, they arrange a team day out. their 2023 venue was Exeter, they had the Turks Head on their list of pubs to visit. When they arrived at the pubs entrance the bouncers turned them away stating they were not allowed to let in a crowd that was all together (there was 14 of them). So be aware of all turning up at the same time and possibly getting turned away.

P.S. The Turks Head is a very good pub for Real Ale and Craft beers, having a large choice.

1st off I don't think the ref was as bad as some thought, He let play go on where in the EPL you'd get a free kicks nothing major in his handling of the game.

As for the game...at 2-0 game done and dusted I got the impression the players also thought that, But another challenge went unpunished and they score, A breakaway and a slip put Hugil in and it's now 2-2, One of the best defences against one of the worst attacks...this is the DCFC we have got to know.

NML could have scored in the 1st half when shooting...rebound to Barks who misses, Collins miss cues at 2-2 when on another day it gets smashed into the net, At 3-2 NML clean through and miss controls the ball, So on another day 4 or 5 goals and we're storming the league, It was a little messy at 2-2 not awful messy...we never rushed or panicked just that the ball wouldn't fall for us.

We won, We got the 3 points we move onto Lincoln, No histrionics from me...only we have to show more composure when defending.

I'll sleep well...goodnight and sleep tight all 👍

Good Post, have a nice sleep

  10. Its Nixon that's opened up the story/rumour on Smith, but I'm sure Sheffield Weds stated last week that he's not for sale. Perhaps it might be a loan deal that could be on the table, especially that he still has until June 2025 on his contract. So I'm guessing that we could'nt buy him and also buy CBT. Also think CBT would be the better option, being younger, a scorer of goals and makes assists. Smith, so far got just 3 goals in 14 league apps.

I cant see Oduroh featuring, it would mean he cant go out on loan again which id imagine is what we want to do.

I dont think Burton will come away to us & play 2 up front so I think we will stick with a back 4. Nelson was set to play right back vs Fleetwood but Warne changed to a back 3 when he saw the Fleetwood lineup with 2 strikers, so i think Nelson may end up right back.

Vickers - Nelson Cashin Bradley Elder - Bird Hourihane - Barkhuizen Thompson NML - Collins

Wildsmith Wilson Fapetu Fornah Sibley TJJ Brown

I do think maybe Wilson might make the bench.

Where does Corey Blackett-Taylor fit in, would you not put him on the bench.

It will be interesting to see if the injuries lead us to a back 3/5 or 4.

    The 3/5 would look like

          Nelson  Bradley  Cashin

    Barkhuizen                      Elder

Whereas a 4 may look like

    Nelson Bradley Cashin  Elder

There may be a wildcard solution like Tommo at RWB.

Don't want a back 3/5, we look vunerable even against teams in the bottom half of this league.

  13. Strange that CBT did not play for Charlton today, was'nt even a sub. Looks like the player wants a move. Rumours on Charlton's forum is he took a slight knock in training on Friday, but a lot of fans are not buying that.

  14.  I think the wheels have well and truely come off.  Their last 6 games without a win were all against lower to midtable teams and one was against a League 2 team in the EFL trophy. And having played 27 league games (more than any of the top 7 teams chasing), they are at a slight disadvantage. They need to find some form, because in their last remaining 19 games, they still have half of those fixtures against sides in the top half of the current table. With Oxford to play twice, Barnsley, Derby, Peterboro and Bolton to play amongst that lot.

You might struggle to get that going amongst the other 12 of you dotted around Wembley.

Unfortunately, being the biggest supported team left in the EFL Trophy, if we reach the final we would get a massive allocation of tickets.

P.S. Come to think of it we were the biggest supported team at the begining of this competition.

I don’t think Bolton will win the league. Not the best team we’ve faced and we’re lucky to win it at a time we weren’t even playing that well. I do agree that the top 2 for me is between those four

Yes, but they also started off slowly and are currently favourites with the bookies, but I also stated the January transfer window could make a difference. Lets wait and see, lets hope the Rams are right in with a chance of promotion come the back end of April. I for one would take runners-up now (Ipswich got that spot last season, I wonder how they are doing compared with last seasons champs).

  17. For all those interested (Just incase Rams reach the final), it's Sunday 7th April. We are due to play Wycombe (away) on the Saturday, so if we do reach the final that game will be put back. That might fall to our advantage in the promotion race.
