Maybe he was thinking it's time for stability and sustainability, I don't know. Maybe he'd set his heart and mind on getting PW et al in which gave PW a solid bargaining position...

I think your'e right, once warne knew he was wanted, he hung out for a big long contract.

We keep coming back to the same point as I'm trying to move this debate away from PW's alleged shortcomings as a manager which I get after reading thread after thread about him to basically if it's that obvious then why hasn't DC also seen this and why hasn't DC done something about the situation?

Which also expands into the comments being made that they're not going to put up with this for another 2.5 years - well if we can't afford to get rid of PW then they're going to have to or like you said not renew their season tickets next season and so on.

Having read lots of your comments on loads of blogs, I've decided, Tyler Durden YOU ARE A REBEL WITH NO CAUSE.

Folk don't KNOW what we can/can't afford but, when there's a business plan in place to which we have to adhere and the club was saying we can't afford transfer fees, it does seem to indicate that there's not much wriggle room in the budget. Not much wriggle room in what we may spend according to the business plan. What would paying PW and his staff off cost? We fans have no idea but if we guess at 20K a week for PW, 15K each for Barker and Hammy and 10K for Warrington, the keeper's coach, that's 60K a week which comes to £3.12M a year. Two and a half years left so 3,12 * 2.5 and you have £7.8M. Now, as I've said, I'm only guessing but even if their wages are only half the figures I've used, you're talking the best part of £4M to get rid. Even if we do have that kind of  money floating around, would we be allowed to spend it under the business plan? Again we don't know but it's not a daft thought that we probably can't spend that amount on compo for PW et al.

The poster to whom you replied was making a, not unreasonable, assumption, IMO.

Well when we are nowhere in site of being in the promotion race come the January transfer window. We will sell our prized young talent on the cheap, i.e. Cashin, Bird,  Sibley and Thompson. Then we will have the cash to off load Warne and his dross coaching staff. But we will be set back at least 2 or 3 seasons with no decent players and the incoming manager and his team will have to be the bees knees to get this club out of league one.

    That's fair comment.

Weirdly as a League 1 side we seem to have recruited a League 1 manager.

Pep was obviously tied up that day.

Yes we got a League one manager, that's been proven before he got recruited. I was one that was against his appointment from day one. I was hoping (being a longlife Derby fan) that he would be able to adapt, change his tactics, playing style etc. All other coaches/managers, having seen Warne's teams (Rotherham & Derby) style of play, have worked it out and know how to beat it with inferior players.

Its just not fun. At least when we went down with 11 points we knew we were rubbish & it was fun. Getting docked points & fighting for our lives not fun at the time but it was entertaining

This football that gets served up everyweek is boring, no entertainment & absolute rubbish. Cant even see what he's trying to achieve. If we were playing loads of kids, bringing them through & trying to play the right way then you could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He's a pub manager at best

Pub manager, SORRY BUT I DON'T WANT HIM PULLING MY PINT AND TELLING ME IT'S GOOD IN PARTS.

One year into a four year contract. He isn’t going anywhere. We just have to be patient. If we played like we did at Blackpool this thread would not exist.

perhaps the players could bear some responsibility? Just a thought.

He's had more than a year, being patient will see us being no where near the promotion race and all our talented youngsters are out of contract at the end of the season (will they hang around for another season in league one). On top of that most of the older experienced players are also out of contract at the end of the season. We can't afford to be patient with Warne, his style, tactics and play is so easy to work out by opposition coaches/managers, Warne is a one trick pony.

  7. AVERAGE=Meaning middle, not top or bottom. Current league position of the Rams "8th" out of 24 teams= Above Average (win our game in hand and could be 4th).  Scored 18 goals so far, only 4 sides have scored more= Well above average. Conceded 11 goals, only 2 teams conceded less= Again, well above average. Lost 3 league games, only 2 teams have better records= Yet again well above average.

Lets not forget, we still have another 35 league games to play. We have players to come back into the reckoning from injury, we could lose some of these "average" players in the January window. We could even gain some above average players in the same transfer window.

Oh, and some other facts, best supported League one team= Very good (no average marks there). Our Manager ? is he poor, average, above average or good !!!!!!

I think there must be an acknowledgment of how much not going up this season will cost us. If we were doing well might our youngsters re-sign? How much difference in fees against compensation is there, what will losing them cost us? Will there be a drop in attendance, I thought the turnout for Portsmouth was a little low. What financial affect will not going up have.

But I agree I think Clowes is probably doing nothing until at least December, unless a good opportunity presents itself…???

For the last few weeks, Derby have played a back five out of possession. That was evident on Tuesday at Blackpool - Kane Wilson was dropping in to RWB, while Nyambe shifted across to play on the right of the three central defenders.

We played 4 at the back. our formation was 4-2-3-1. Yes midfielders/wingers will cover when tracking back when the opposition have an attack. But having watched the full match on Rams TV, I only saw Kane Wilson in a right back position twice in all Blackpool's attacks.

I'm pretty certain we played 4231 from the start at Blackpool...

    Wildsmith

    Nyambe Nelson Cashin Forsyth

    Smith Fornah

    Wilson Bird NML

    Collins

Wilson was playing LWB, not in the back line

I also saw the same back 4 against Cambridge. He seems to have ditched the back 3 (352). Many fans have been calling for a 4. Nyambe seems to allow us to do that and we look better for it.

Correct, it was never 5 at the back against Blackpool.

Been thinking about this and I've decided we'll be champions. You can thank me in May, though my current calculations show us having things wrapped up by the end of April, so feel free to dive in earlier.

If we play to the same standard in our remaining fixtures like we did against Blackpool, then yes we will be champions.

The criticism has died down for various reasons.

We are playing better football in the last 2 games, so some of people's concerns are being assuaged.

We've won 2 of the last 3, as BC says, 3 points shuts people up.

Also, many who weren't happy are tired of the kick back, especially post Carlisle when we didn't play well but won and those commenting got the result thrown at them.

From my point of view, I'd like some more control in games, but Nyambe and the return of Bird and Barks have improved matters. It wasn't personal for most critics, it was based on what we saw.

As Maynard Keynes wrote, when the facts change, I change my mind.

Also, Warne may have seen the light or even the comments on this forum about his 3 centrebacks with wingbacks that produced dire football and bad results. We look so much better with 4 at the back, which we played in most games last season during that 15 match unbeaten run. And did he get lucky picking up Waggy through Fozzy wanting him at his testimonial match, then Rooney getting injured and others in that position also crocked he gambled on bringing in Nyambe.

Perhaps he got lucky at Rotherham getting those 3 promotions and being at a smaller club was restricted in improving the squad, hence getting relegated twice. With 7 years in management under his belt, now is his time to prove that he can be successful. Get Derby Promotion and keep us in the Championship and maybe beyond.

But please Mr Warne no more 3 at the back with wingbacks, with the players we have lets stick with 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

    Remind me someone……

How many did we lose by today?

How negative is our goal difference?

When did we drop into the bottom six?

No team has the divine right to expect three points per game!

We played Cambridge, who missed relegation by one point last season, we should be beating teams of their standards if we want to be in the promotion mix. Especially at home where under Warne we have only won 2 league games since the begining of March. Yes that 11 matches with just 2 wins, both a miserly 1-0 result.

Once you accept that we're quite a poor team, it becomes easier to cope with such results.

We're going nowhere this season, season two of the plan wasted by October, yet nothing will change.

Maybe Warne will stumble on a solution next season, maybe he won't.

He's already stumbled on a gem with Ryan Nyambe, would'nt be with us if Rooney, Ward etc were fit. What we need now is a few injuries to the forward line and we might see Dajaune Brown put in the team. And maybe Warne might have stumbled on a goalscorer.

It’s highly likely Cash will gone in Jan though right? Nothing stopping the 2 clubs agreeing a deal over the next 4 months, no doubt Brighton will want to leave it until Jan 31st though……

I think Cashin will be a Brighton player come January, but if the deal stays the same as it was before the window shut, we will keep him on loan until the end of the season.

9 goals in Roseniors 8 league games in charge of Derby, including blanks against Charlton, Shrewsbury, Fleetwood and Lincoln. Averaged 1.125 goals per game.

58 goals in the remaining 38 league games last season in Warne. Averaged 1.52 goals per game.

    Saved by Didzy.

Under Liam, Didzy was not available for all the games in his short reign has Interim manager, plus that side was put together at very short notice and was always going to get better when the players got to know each other and would have slowly improved. Currently Liam's Hull city sit in 4th spot with 15 points having scored 13 and conceded 8. Derby under Warne also have 13 points after 8 games scoring 14 and conceding 9. That makes both teams very similar in goals scored and conceded, but Hull have only lost once to the Rams 3 defeats. But take in to consideration, who Hull have played so far. Having played 2 teams relegated from the Premiership and Blackburn, Coventry and Norwich who did well last season in the Championship.

I don't know why people on here can compare stats for Liam's 10 games in charge against PW's over a longer period. G STAR RAM stating the blanks against Charlton, Shrewsbury and Fleetwood in games where we totally dominated play and shots at goal which, if the match was played again under them chances, could have been different scoreline. It's like stating Sam Allardyce is the best England manager because he had a 100% record (played one, won one).
