I'm not sure if it's a wind up, because when people what day is it on the 6th June, they should be ashamed.
Today is the anniversary of 'D-Day' the start of the liberation of Europe from the Nazi's. Without those brave Allied servicemen & women, my father, a Polish enforced slave labourer, based in Normandy, would probably not have survived the war.
The sacrifice they gave on that day and the next 11 months cannot be overlooked.

There's a bank holiday in 15 countries today, 6th June:
Austria; Belgium; Denmark; France; Germany; Hungary; Republic of Korea; Luxembourg; Malaysia; Netherlands; New Zealand; Norway; Sweden & Switzerland.
So unless the creditors have their bank accounts in any of those countries, there is no reason why online bank transfers can't be carried out today, and as far as I can see, none are tax-haven countries!!!

I didn't know the Queen supported Derby
Of course she does, ever since she popped up North to open Pride Park, she's always looked out for our results.
Celebrated with a glass of two when we win and kicked the corgi's when we lose!!!!!!!!!!

If Buchanan has signed the contract extension, then Derby County will be able to receive a transfer fee. If not, he'll be able to move for free.
As an established player at EFL Championship level, as well as an under-21/23 international player with potential to play at a higher level, and if it is a transfer, then Derby should be asking for at least £5 million.

A team that gets into the prem and manages to stay for one season gets £300 million . That’s why Mel gambled and took us close to liquidation .
Where do you get £300 million from? Sky TV / Premier guarantees £105 million, plus £400k for every time the club is at home on live Sky Football. So let's say 6 home games x £400k = another £2.4 million.
The club also receives another £400k for every position the team finishes in the Premier, so a team which finishes bottom they get £400k and a team who finishes top receive £8 million.
If a club gets relegated after just one season, they receive another £60 million spread over 3 seasons.
So a team finishing bottom will receive £105m + £400k + £60m = £162,800,000. Of course, this doesn't take into account increased season tickets and other merchandise revenue during one season in the premier, which I suppose you could add another £30 million.
It would probably be nearer £200 million for one season, followed by 3 seasons in the Championship.

Buxton has the Stockport post code - SK , and as we all know, Stockport is in Cheshire.
From Buxton to the Cheshire county border is 12 miles, not half-mile from the Tesco supermarket in long Eaton to the Notts border line.

I think rooney will sign a extension to his current contract.
As of next week (1st June), he hasn't got a contract, so he'll be a free agent.

Excuse my ignorance but do they celebrate Christmas in the UAE?
I lived and worked in the United Arab Emirates for 14 years (6 years in Abu Dhabi & 9 years in Dubai), and I can assure you all religions and cultural festivities such as Eid-Al Fitr (after Ramadan) for Muslims; Christmas & Easter for Christians and Diwali for Hindu's were celebrated.
The Christmas trees and lights that they put up in the hotels and shopping malls are better than in Oxford Street, London, and every restaurant offers special Christmas Day lunches.
In the 14 years we were in the UAE, we only returned home twice at Christmas as we had a better time, and nearly every Christmas we had some family or friends joining us in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

Been there several times, The far open side, Stand there in a winters gale ? I had friends who live in Bolton Le Sands 3 miles down the road, The old ground was more accommodating imo, The one saving grace are the pies the best in the UK for me...Potts Pies.
Morecambe as a resort is very nice tho
Many, many years ago, (when I was very young) I did some contract work on the Heysham nuclear power station, just a couple of miles up the road, but lodged in Morecambe.
It was a bit rough in the 1970's/80's with many places either closed; run-down or derelict, but since the Midland Hotel re-opened and they've removed the damaged pier, it's a much better place.
The winters were very cold, especially when the wind and rain came off Morecambe Bay and the Irish seas, but the ladies were very accommodating in keeping me warm!!!

Just a hunch but you could be in a minority over there
I don't understand? Why would I be in a minority and where?
However, first one done - Northern Ireland - brilliant place, great food, great drinks, especially the Guinness & Bushmills, and great people.

I just don't care what other club fans think. We've been through the grinder for the past 2 years and yet Derby County Football Club lives on.
We have survived and will go on, possibly to better and higher things. Perhaps not this year, or next, but this could be the start of a beautiful renaissance.
Let the season begin!!!
-
I began following the Rams in January 1962 - 60 years ago this year, although I'm not sure if Harry Storer was still manager at that time, and I was certainly on the pitch when Tim Ward was sacked, but then in walked Clough & Taylor, and we didn't know what the next five years would bring.
So the experiences of watching Derby County, home and away, throughout that 60 years have been wonderful when we were promoted and winning the league titles; heart breaking with the relegations; sometimes despair and impossible to fathom what the hell was going on with the many off-field shenanigans, yet very proud to have travelled so many miles supporting my home town club.
And, at the age of 70, a few weeks back, I was in the crowd of 4,000 Derby fans at Blackpool, absolutely enjoying every minute - what a day.
Let us hope the love and support we gave the team during last season goes through to next season and we see the good times return again to Derby County Football Club.

I've read that dcfc brings in around 100 million a year to the local community.
This is a very interesting comment, as I've done a very rough estimate based on what I spend going to a home match, as follows:
- Season Ticket per season = £495 / 23 = £21.50 per game
- Travel by car = £3 fuel + Car Park - £10 = £13, or, Travel by Bus = £5
- 2 pints of beer before/after a game = £8
- Something to eat before the game (e.g. fish & chips, etc.) = £10
- So my total per game is between £44.50 to £52.50 x 23 games = £1,023.50 / £1,207.50
- If you take the average Pride Park attendance as 22,000 x £1,000 per season = £22 million.
So that's a long way from the £100m, but I'm just an average fan, but I'm sure other fans spend more than that amount, and if the attendances go above that figure, especially when there is a good away support, then the I would imagine the figure would be nearer £25-£27 million, just on "going to the match", and not extra's such as overnight rooms; restaurant meals; train fares; DCFC shop sales, etc.

Despite only just getting into Derby's 1st team this season, and playing just a handful of game, he is one of the best defenders in the Championship.
He is not the fastest, but he's strong as an ox, and just watch his positioning because he's very quick to be aware of opponents play.
He's certainly got the strength of Buxton, but there's something alike in Colin Todd when reading the play.
This is one player Derby have to give a huge contract, even if it's only to get a decent transfer fee if he leaves. He will play in the Premiership one day, hopefully with the Rams.

The video 'The Rams - Derby County FC 1884 - 1984' has so many parallels to this seasons problems, and throughout the 138 years of history, Derby County has never been too far from controversy, shenanigans and probes by either the EFL or police.
Has any club been investigated as many times as Derby county or had such poor owners/directors and managers?

Do you remember the Liverpool 2-0 game in the early 60's
I was there.
Yeats "throwing" Bill Curry into the Popside, but Liverpool still got promotion that season and went on to better things (I think!!).
-
We'll have at least four 28k+ attendances next season - Sheffield Wednesday; Sunderland; Burton Albion & Mansfield Town (if they are promoted).
The majority of games will be on a Saturday afternoon, kick-off's at 3.00 pm, which will give the opportunity for more walk-in's, as well as parents taking their children.
It wouldn't surprise me if our average next season, in Division 1 (and I haven't given up on the Rams staying in the Championship - yet!!), would be around 20k.

I worked & lived 22 years in the Middle East, including Qatar, and the maximum daytime temperature in November and December is no more than 28 Degs.C, with nil humidity, which to a European is a hot summer's day. The later 7.00 pm kick-off will be perfect to play football.
It'll be cooler than when it was held in the USA.

I've got both Derby & Reading on 39 points, with Derby in 21st position, on goal difference, to stay up.
Barnsley on 38 points.

The Premier clubs are guaranteed £105 million per season. So it seems F****t intend to splash the lot in one big spending spree. Now they've announced how much money they've got to spend, lets hope the other clubs and potential transfers, take them for all they're worth!!!
They're not actually going to get the likes of a Ronaldo, Pogba or Messi for that money are they?
And if they get relegated they'll have a dozen players on top wages and long contracts to deal with. What happens after 3 years when the parachute money runs out and they don't get promoted again?
