Wsm-ram reacted to Jourdan in Transfer rumours
The Dembele link is probably the most exciting one we’ve had all summer.
He looks full of pace and trickery and has the ability to unsettle defences but also to pick a pass.
I think that’s the key signing. Getting someone in the mould of Dembele / Azeez / Randall / Maghoma is much needed.
We need more creativity and more technical prowess, especially with Bird and Hourihane having left.

I wonder if we might see a slightly more nuanced approach for the Champ. Reckon he will want power and athleticism for sure but think there's an understanding that it'll take a little more guile to unlock higher quality defences.
Exciting to be linked with a player like this at any rate.

Taking a player off the Brest, can’t get much younger than that.

Wsm-ram reacted to Comrade 86 in Paul Warne
We started out with 6 contracted senior players after admin. How much more stripped out did we need to be for you to give Warne any kudos?
The re-build is a credit to both Rosenior and Warne, end of. Very few teams that drop to L1 escape as quickly as we have and almost none post-administration. I'm proud of that, irrespective of how much you try to belittle it.

Wsm-ram reacted to Kernow in Ben Osborn
This post is a bit contradictory, isn’t it? 350 senior appearances should be a worry? How?
He’s 29, never played below the Championship and had 3 seasons as a fairly regular PL player, albeit for a poor PL side.
For a side coming up from League One, he would be an excellent signing. Experienced at this level without being too old, versatile to cover at least 2 positions that we need to strengthen. If he’s willing to come, it’s a no-brainer for me.

He’s been round the ground, and was one of the three players Warne spoke to. He wants to be local and be close to family. It’s a strong possibility

Wsm-ram reacted to angieram in Conor Hourihane - Has left the club
All the best, Conor - right move at this point in his career.
Was a good signing for Derby, experienced head supporting the younger players and much respect for him in the dressing room.
Admire that he knew when he needed to look elsewhere- many don’t.

A LOT more competitive definitely. We’re aiming high in the transfer market, we won’t just be there to make numbers up next season

Bernard has played most of the season at LCB and a few games on the right. I can't see him joining a club to be backup, and he wont get in the side over Cashin or Nelson. I dount he'd be ahead of Nyambe in the pecking order either. Any CB signing should be the key man in yhe middle of our defence.
Vaulks and Adams would be a very solid midfield pairing. Both lead by example and set standards on and off the pitch. Warne also got the best out of Vaulks, contributing 7 goals and 7 assists in his final season before he went to Cardiff.

I’ve heard the first three are almost done.
Ebou - fee
Bobby Clark - season long loan
Iverson - Leicester- free
I’ve heard we’ve spoken to a couple of defenders , two strikers , four CMs and two goalkeepers.
Sibley to re sign
Collins - still undecided May impact our decision to keep or loan out Brown
As for one’s up for sale or have interest in
Barks
fornah
bradley

Wsm-ram reacted to DiggerB in Tyreece John-Jules
We did that last year and all he proved was that sadly, he couldn’t manage it! Agreed, he is an undoubted talent but he’s played the equivalent of 22 full matches in the last 3 seasons, and just 377 minutes for us before breaking down again. At 23, and with the athletic demands likely expected by PW I can’t see it being a smart signing, whatever the deal.

Both Souttar and Lonwijk would be really solid signings for where we want to be this year.
If Bradley goes to Charlton, Souttar to fit into his place in the middle of the 3, we’d have Lonwijk, Nyambe & Forsyth who could also play there which would allow Rooney to go off on loan. After his injury, I think it’s important he gets some regular game time which he probably wouldn’t get next season.
A starting LWB to replace Sibley with Elder/Forsyth as back-up, plus possibly Iversen in goal, and the defensive side of the team would be sorted, and a quality one even for Championship standards.

Wsm-ram reacted to Round the Houses in Transfer rumours
It’s interesting to hear about potential Cashin links. There have been 2 CB names which have come to me in the last couple of days, 1 has visited the training ground and the other has only been in spoken about (I’m sorry I’m unsure which is in which order)
• Harry Souttar (Leicester)
• Nigel Lonwijk (Wolves)
In my opinion, 2 very different centre backs but wouldn’t have thought we’d be after 2, unless there were any departures…
With the information provided, I believe Souttar is a loan and Lonwijk is permanent.
Will update if I get any more info.

I don't think the kits are far away from being unveiled.
The kits are white, blue & yellow and mint green.

Hopefully!
He would be a perfect signing. Local lad, championship experience, within the right age portfolio and a versatile player.
