Speaking to a friend from Rotherham about their season and he thinks the only players out of their team who are close to championship standard are Johansson and Humphreys. I don't think GK is a position we need to look at as priority unless either Vickers or Wildsmith want to depart, so I imagine Johansson will be snapped up by someone. Humphreys is a CB at a a good age with a good pedigree so I definitely wouldn't be against us going in for him

I have it on good authority Ciaran Clark plays Padel in Derby, so you know what that means 😉

Good shout on Forino, impressed me when we played them at their place
Impressive that they picked him up from Loughborough Uni. Given the location you would hope our scouts are keeping an eye out for similar future pickups. It would be nice to see us gamble on some non-leauge talents rather than having to spend big after they've already made it. It won't always work out but an option worth pursuing

He's hit some great form under yhe new boss. Got a good midfield partnership with Wharton developing. They support and feed the creative atrackers Olise and Eze really well

I saw on facebook Smithfield is open from 10am. Off the bus in town, Birds sausage cob on my way to the Smithfield, then on to the ground for a date with destiny

I was only a nipper in the 90s when we got promoted, so dont really remember a lot of the details.
What I wonder is, did everyone cry and s*** themselves like a bunch of babies quite this much every time we dropped points back then? Before Van der Laan popped up with his glorious header to clinch second for us?
3 games to go. Bring on the Orient

Team is what I was hoping for and the bench has some good options!
Hope to god we don't get any defensive injuries though

Leigh Curtis’ predicted XI in the DET assuming Ward isn’t fit enough to play is a 4-4-2 as follows;
Wildsmith
Wilson Nelson Cashin Sibley
NML Smith Adams CBT
Collins Waghorn
I don’t hate it, solid in the middle, pace and trickery out wide from the wingers and the full backs. It’s just a…erm….industrious front 2, so not a great amount of guile, but maybe it’ll be a game for staying solid and then kicking their front door in at the right moments.
Possibly Washigton if fit is a better option as part of a 2? Offers a slightly different option to the other 2. Although I suppose it's unlikely for Wycombe's line to be up enough for him to run behind. This is why it's such a shame about Gayle, who gave us such a smart striking option

No ticket, no ramstv and no radio access for me today. Please provide as many helpful updates as you can whilst I frantically refresh this page 😆

I'm guessing this is just a "team of the year" produced by the blackpool Gazette not an official one, hence why Bolton make no appearance? Burrows from Peterborough is a class young player and seemingly heading to the end or his contract

Devante Cole’s contract appears to be up at the end of the season I believe.
If we stay in league one he’d be worth a punt.
Been impressed with what I've seen of him. Seems a decent blend of physical, hardworking, skillfull and smart. Would take him on a free if we got promoted to be honest

I didn’t sing it but Reading were one of the clubs who sang it to us. That’s the reasoning.
I didn't realise that, so thank you for highlighting it and does make a little more sense then. Would that have been at the game at the Madeski when Curtis smashed his headed equaliser in?
I still think it would be nice for us to be the "bigger" fans and not sink to the level but can understand it a bit more

Not to say I didn't enjoy the match itself though. Great win and Ebou is a colossus!

Haven't read through the thread to see if this was mentioned anywhere, apologies if it's been raised here or elsewhere.
Was anyone else really disappointed with our fans singing the "we're all having a party" chant. Hoped we might be more sympathetic given recent history. Back when blackpool had issues with their owners I remember us showing some solidarity with their fans, yet last night our loud minority seemed to want to act like d********. During our rough period, there was a lot of posts by fans slating the likes of birmingham, cardiff and other fans who chanted about our club dying. Yet last night the exact same shitty song was used by our fans against another team.
Maybe its because I have some family in reading a close friend who supports them but it all left a bad taste for me. I was a bit embarrassed by those chants...

Interesting how that 3 is positioned is it just a simple swap with Nyambe at LCB or does everyone shift one across with Nyambe at RCB?
I was wondering that, Bradley left of the 3 wouldn't fill me with confidence.
Could be back 4: Nyambe, Nelson, Bradley, Sibley. With Ward on the right wing, NML left
Or wingbacks: Ward Nelson Bradley Nyambe Sibley. NML up top with Collins

Imagine a George Thorne from the 13/14 season, but left footed, a year younger and not injury prone.

In the dangerous position of suggesting a player having never seen him play or really know anything about him but...
Keanu Baccus from St Mirren, Aussie international in his mid20s described as a defensive midfielder. Almost moved to Bolton in August but it feel through for some reason. Contract up at the end of the season. On paper sounds quite handy...
Any SPL experts on the forum that might know more about him?

Not buying the McGoldrick explanation though. Reckon he’s been looking at Dan Crowley.
Crowley or Jodi Jones who is also having a very impressive time there. I saw him get 4 assists with great crosses from the left wing in their recent game.
Must be a strong character too hes come back from multiple ACL injuries (a la Fozzy) despite only being mid 20s

Femi Azeez from Reading looks a talent. Pacey attacker, plays mostly from the right cutting onto his left so would provide a different option to what we have. Only 22 and coming to his contract end I think

Two very good players at Charlton with contracts expiring in the summer. Blackett-Taylor has been mentioned quite a bit, but Dobson's their skipper and has always looked a very solid holding midfielder from what I've seen. Could do the role Hourihane is currently and allow CH to play further up perhaps.
Ronan Curtis, formerly of Pompey and often linked in the past, is returning from injury and training with L2 Wimbledon. Could be risky but he seemed to have talent. Seems a bit of a "Tom Lawrence" figure among Pompey fans, divided on how much they rated him
I suggested Dobson from Charlton a little way back and just seen this.
It's only a line in this (very questionable) "article" that says that Charlton turned down bids from us and Wrexham at the end of the window. I like the idea he's a player we're interested in. Good age and the right sort of attributes we could use in a midfielder

My guess is a 4-2-3-1;
Wildsmith
Nyambe. Nelson. Cashin. Forsyth
Fornah Smith
Sibley Bird Barkhuizen
Collins
I quite like the look of that albeit a slight lack or pace. There's some good technical ability in that midfield so I just hope the ball isn't launched over their heads too much
