Injury to Baldock and so Lowe is on, first team both our ex-fullbacks have played together there I think? Interested to see how they do

No I’m not his mum. I have know him  since he was about 8 and watched him play probably a 100 times, my own son has been in the academy system for the last 8 years so i think i am better qualified to comment than the majority on here. What i will say aswell is that the majority of lads at Derbys academy would be off if a serious offer came in for them.

Thats totally understandable to me. I don't think you can blame them for thinking that way.  Yes, there is a chance of breaking through for 1st team action at Derby but even then just look at the numbers of how many don't make it through. In Kaide's case he will have seen his brother get towards the fringes of the first team squad only to then have to drop down a few levels.

If they're good enough to be getting interest from clubs like Liverpool then they should back themselves to make a breakthrough there. Liverpool are using their top academy players at least in the cups, so if they're good enough they could stake a claim.  There will always be a lot of interest in the youngsters who are let go by clubs like Liverpool as well so they are giving themselves a very good chance of making it at a higher level.

As much as I want all our young talent to come through and play for us, it's such a high pressure environment with a fairly small chance of success that I don't think you can begrudge them the chance for a big move.

  3. If the rumours about Glenn Murray being available are true I'd be keen so long as his wages arent crazy.

Even slower and less mobile than Kazim but he his touch and finishing are a higher level. The 2 of them as options with Waggy and the youths in reserve would make me feel much more comfortable for the remainder of the season

The Hughton factor may drag him to the dark side though as their 50th transfer of the year and 100th squad member

With brum signing Crosgrove could we go for Jukewitcz always a hand fall when we play them

Vedy good shout. Decent player and I think Eric Steele confirmed on the radio recently that McLaren era he was a target for us.

Even with a striker coming in though, unless they were desperate to get shot of his wages I'm not sure Brum would let him go to a rival on the cheap (which I imagine is what we're looking for at the moment)

  5. Both excellent beers to be fair!

I'll be getting a delivery from the Brunswick now that payday has been I think. They have an imperial stout called "**** you 2020" which I'd like try!

I got a few bottles of Quintessential from aldi at £1.69 each last week, great beer and great price ?

Tottenham would class as ‘outside the usual suspects.’

Would have to agree with that considering they haven't won it for over half a century ?

And I would sooner see them win it than United or City but somebody who isn't Mourinho would also be preferable

Made the performance by our 6th and 7th stringers look fairly reasonable.

Very true, a lot of fans (myself included) didn't give the youngsters enough credit after our tie. Last night's game made me think a bit more about it and appreciate what our predominantly teenaged team were up against

  8. Following the latest lockdown rules, pubs that were doing take away beer or running as bottle shops are apparently no longer allowed to. If you check social media channels you'll see many are now offering home delivery instead as this is permitted by the rules. Brunswick, Smithfield, Mickleover sports are just a few examples.

If you're in a position to support your local pub this might be a good way to do it. Bit pricier than the supermarkets but also the bonus of fresh draught beer in containers ?

  9. Tried the collection from DBC's Hole in the Wall pub in Mickleover yesterday. Picked up a few pints of "Muffin Conpares to You" milk stout, quite a sweet tipple so maybe not to everyone's taste but I thought it was lovely!

Very easy to drink but still fair strength at 6.5%. The pork pies with stilton that they're selling are incredible too, highly recommended ?

  10. On another note, I fancy a trip up to Buxton one day to have a look at Buxton Brewery and nip into the tap house....

EDIT, that was until I looked at train prices. How do they justify £43 for a return ticket somewhere 33 miles away?

Worth checking out the bus service (transpeak I think), I don't know how much they are but I'm sure they must be cheaper than that!

  11. Come, brothers, tis neither the time nor place for arguments. Tis Christmas time and tis the beer thread, this should bring us joy!

Anyways got me some Perlenbacher pilsener from Aldi, not particularly special but it's affordable and better than your average can of lager  :)
