  1. We paid £280K for him. I think Dalglish from Celtic to Liverpool was the first 400K + fee paid by an English club and that WAS 440K if I remember rightly. I don't think we tried to play him as a target man either, he played quite a bit with Charlie George who was able to play as a target man. He just wasn't good enough for a top end of a division 1 team
  2. It won't be a sell out but it would have been if it wasn't on TV. Peterborough would have probably brought a full contingent for a start. Considering its on TV its an amazing attendance for a third division game. I'm glad Peterborough aren't filling their section anyway, it will make it more of 'home' crowd. COYR
  3. It usually is about that when we think its going to be a sellout. Then, last Saturday, with yawning gaps everywhere it was 27.5
  4. That’s true. But normally good results lead to increased confidence in the team which in turn leads to better performances. I think we are seeing that now
  5. We have played well and showed a lot of heart after two sickening blows. Only 1 down at half time. Every chance to get something here. Well done Derby so far
  6. Apart from conceding those two goals of course I don’t think we are playing badly at all. We need a bit of luck. Don’t forget the penalty Oxford got was luck for them,

    Wayne Rooney

Rooney's managerial career starting to mirror that of Frank Lampard, another superstar who had something going here then effed off for something more glamourous
  8. Its so sad how we chucked him away. I always said we would come to regret it. I think he will end up getting a big money move to the prem. Good luck to him anyway
  9. Yeah but if you read my post, my first point is maybe we can't get such players 'into the building' because of the competition! We will see soon enough. Certainly we can do better than the likes of Harvey White and Springett though
  10. I think from Warne's comments we face competition from a number of Championship clubs as well as ambitious league 1 clubs like Bolton and Portsmouth for any players we might be interested in in league 1 and probably players in league 2 as well. Everyone is looking for these players who are coming to the end of the contracts and might be available without a fee because nobody has got much money. This is where we need our recruitment team to earn their money by finding us a couple of players that aren't on the radar of everyone else which means looking outside of the lower English leagues and players like Blackett - Taylor
  11. Nelson for me after his initial slightly wobbly start when I don't think he was happy in a 3. Now as part of a central defensive 2 which is obviously what he has played all his life he's just totally consistently solid. Cashin is playing really well now but remember he went through is sticky patch so its Nelson for me. But I love Wilson and he's coming on well now
  12. Something has changed? Results
  13. No, it wasn't that Wigan were hopeless, in the first half at least Derby were very, very good and played them off the park
  14. I thought the football we played under Billy Davies was very boring as well, even though we usually won. It just doesn't inspire you to want to start jumping around and singing
  15. But I agree with Chester40, it did feel like that
  16. Well your other perspective can be looked at in two ways. Firstly the way you want to look at it and secondly you could imagine if the situations were reversed. Derby v Forest or Leicester - and equivalent 'local Derby' fixture but in the Prem. That would be a sell out too, but with 32+K there. Then Palace v Brighton in the third division. 25K sellout? Not bloody likely.
  17. Until Sharp and Gregory die(retirement is not sufficient a guarantee) there is still a risk of them turning up at Derby County
  18. Remember how just before this decision was announced Marianakis converted 11m debts to shares? I reckon that was to raise the capital to buy Cooper off. The money needed to be found as a lump sum, it can't be deferred or paid in installments over 7 years like signings and wages to avoid FPP. I hope I'm right, because if so it means Forest are really up against it financially
  19. If we do I think I will invade the pitch and make Warne eat my season ticket
  20. My son is in the South upper and said it was a bit of a nuisance but no big deal. They will quickly learn from it, things are always like this to start with when something new is introduced
