  1. Seems a bit over the top but I think it just enables police to react more positively if things turn nasty. So if for example the unthinkable happens and we don't go up, there could be trouble. But otherwise people celebrating won't be an issue
  2. I think you would still get the continuity. You wouldn't have had a break in your season tickets. But yes Sage, I did say in the original post that it would cost you and you have to weigh that up. But it would be my advice if you want to get two together in the South stand. There are no easy solutions.
  3. You can, but you have to go down the club or ring up etc. By which time people have nipped in online and snapped up the plum ones. You can't just swop online at 5 seconds past 10.00am. Or more likely 20 seconds before 10.00am.
  4. If you can hold your nerve and are prepared to stand the small extra cost(of losing your early bird discount etc), my advice would be to not renew. Then the second the seats go on general sale after all the renewal period has expired be ready to pounce online as a new customer. Like you do for away tickets. You might think that's a bit of a risk but I am certain you will get yourselves a pair of plum ones, anywhere in the ground, even in the South stand
  5. Anything but David Clowes is one of our own
  6. Derby is not a big city. Burton is part of our catchment area. Burton doing well over a sustained period of time eats into our potential fan base. So for those reasons the sooner they go back to non league the better
  7. Has to be and surely will be an unchanged side
  8. Its neither good news or bad news anyway. Its irrelevant news. We will win Saturday
  9. This is good news. They are effectively forfeiting the midweek game taking them out of the equation as far as we are concerned but will then play a full strength, rested side against Bolton on Saturday
  10. I don't disagree with the main points you make but just to pick you up slightly on GSE. My recollection is they pumped a lot of money in at the outset but then tightened the purse strings afterwards when they realised they weren't going to get an immediate dividend. I don't think we need to spend a fortune to achieve our first objective which will be to stabilize in lower/mid table for the first season. I would imagine it would take 2-3 seasons for us to realistically expect to be competing at the top end, but if we look like doing, and with everything sorted in the background, academy starting to bear fruit and so on I think we will be an absolutely prime plum for a big investor don't you?
  11. Make me wonder, and not for the first time, whether we should ever want to go to the PL. What's the point if it ends up like that?
  12. Yeah but you are probably in your 40's, 50's or older. As no doubt are Mucker 1984 and obviously Reggie Greenwood(I too remember him). Young lads like my son and his mates in the South stand are going to want to do it, just like we did back in the day. Stop being such a sensible/miserable old far*
  13. Yes so in the same way, every clubs highest away attendance in the prem will be at Old Trafford
  14. I bet you are even prepared to pay for them right?
  15. You are right they do. That pass straight out of play just now!
  16. Hope he has more in in than that seeing as we gave him a new 2 year contract
  17. Totally agree. However there is a fine line between speculating and catastrophising
  18. I agree. Its all about blend. People used to say Darryl Powell wasn't 'technically good enough' but he was a massive player for us. He was very similar to Ebou and did a great job alongside more technically gifted players such as Asanovic for example. Aljosa was just about as technically gifted as its possible to get but needed a player like Powell in there
  19. He's a big pudding and not good enough for the championship. Sorry but there you are. He's been a poor signing and a massive disappointment
  20. I remember going to see a pre season friendly after Mel had signed. We had been used to head tennis, boot it and chase it footballers for a few seasons but when Mel got the ball he put his foot on it, stopped and looked up. He played with his head up, not looking down at the ball. I knew then we had made a step change forward and were going places. Lovely to see you Mel
  21. Anyone copy and pasting your list doesn't give a mark for Thommo. Which is a shame as he played really well.
  22. Love him. I so hope he signs a new contract here
  23. On his recent form which is about 3 games. What about his previous form? Everyone is capable of playing in the Championship but the issue is playing well. Playing at a level to get us comfortable first season as a minimum. I think Wards level is shown by the fact that he was available on a free transfer from a third division club at 27 years of age. We need to improve
  24. So pretty much off of them😆 Individually some of them will be good enough - and they had better be because some of them will still be here. But collectively they are no where near good enough for the Championship. From that list we need to replace Forsyth, Collins, Smith, Thompson, Sibley, Ward and Gayle as a minimum. We might need a new keeper too and we may not have Adams. I wouldn't bet big money on NML staying fit and playing as many games in the future either. So we need to be prepared for big changes
