  1. I never slag Max off and can see he is a far better player than Sibley. This is something that a succession of Derby managers clearly agree with. But I agree with your other comments, if we played through midfield more often then anyone in a central 10 position could affect the game far more
  2. Yes or the permanent pot could be £500K or something so £300K out of it wouldn't leave enough for someone we have lined up. It doesn't mean the permanent pot is £300K or less. Its encouraging to think we have money for permanent signings and loans
  3. To be fair I’m much reassured by the house and car pledge! Fair enough
  4. It will be very uninspiring if we get this guy but CBT falls through
  5. Its just wrong to say we don't pass the ball. Cashin boots it long sometime I agree but for the most part we are a passing side. The issue is we get it and pass it wide
  6. Sibley has had plenty of chances in what you consider his true position. Saturday for a start. He's consistent in his performances
  7. I think the reports that we had agreed a fee and he was here for a medical were premature. Hope I'm proved wrong but this length of delay points to that
  8. My recollection was that Cox signed Lillis intending to pair him with Bobby Davison. You may be right that we already had Gee on the books but all I was doing was drawing a comparison from history because the issue was whether we should sign both Smith and Young, so an experienced player and a young one to develop. As we know Lillis was intended to play but got injured so Gee took his place and played a big part in us getting promoted. So I think if we can we should sign both, particularly as Smith would probably be a loan
  9. Buy both Mark Lillis(Smith) and Phil Gee(Young) if you are old enough to get what I'm going on about Comrade
  10. Yep. Maybe this time we have learned our lessons. Lets hope so
  11. His obvious physicality is what impresses me. He's obviously at least 6' tall but is strong, quick and two footed. Get in quick Derby before someone like Peterborough or Brentford do
  12. Wow he looks amazing. Young lad, just coming into his physical prime. Big, strong, athletic. Bit of pace, finds the net. I really hope we are getting him he would transform us
  13. No he’s right except for the bounce which looks great when the whole south stand and half of the rest of the ground does it like several times in the Rooney season. It’s gone a bit flat now along with the atmosphere more generally. But sorry Mull of Kintyre really works for Forest. Firstly it’s a really nice tune as opposed to the SBW mockney dirge. Secondly though it’s a nostalgic link to that period when they were winning leagues and European cups.
  14. Well I wouldn't be watching any sort of standard of football in either of them
  15. OK lets park this discussion and see where we are come the end of his DCFC career
  16. You probably haven't seen as many good players at Derby as I have and are more easily pleased. OK he's not a nothing player he's a mediocre player
  17. If Wheeldon isn't a player then I'm a Dutchman
  18. OK Wolfie I'll explain myself to you, and the 6 people that agree with you Washington is 31 years old. He has had 9 clubs, and not played more that 100 league games for any of them. His most prolific period as a striker was for for St Ives town (you know the little place in Cornwall where they paint pictures) where he scored 85 goals in 102 appearances. If we just look at division 1, which is where we have signed him to play, he scored 33 goals in 94 games for Peterborough seasons 2013-2016 when he would have been between the ages of 21 to 24 ish. Now THAT Conor Washington would have been a good signing. However since then he has scored 45 goals in 228 appearances so 1 in 5 He is a bargain bucket, short term signing like far too many. He is an ageing player who has never been great, as his stats show and like Waghorn is very likely to pick up injuries like he has and Waghorn has. As an ageing player he is going downhill now, he's not somebody we can build any sort of future around. We desperately need to be recruiting some 21 year old Conor Washington types from places like St Ives Town or maybe, heaven forbid, being even being a bit more ambitious than the likes of Peterborough - given that we probably have 3 times their support base - and going a bit higher up the food chain than that
  19. They used to use the term 'relaxed'. 'We don't recognise those figures and we are relaxed about it'
  20. Did we really sign this nothing player on a 2 year deal? My god

    Chris Martin

Didzy fitted into our system and he didn't do much pressing from the front
