If anyone ever comes across a verison of Pan's Labyrinth that's dubbed into English, please let me know. As far as I can see, there isn't one available.
I love that film and am 100% certain Mrs Wolfie would too, but she flatly rejects anything subtitled.

All i can think is you must’ve been starved of entertainment to rate this so highly. There were gaping plot holes and it skipped along without explaining what it perhaps should’ve explained. It was worth a watch and I’ve seen much worse, but I’ll forget it pretty quickly.
Jay McEveley/10
ps. The lead actor reminded me of Ralf Little far too much!!
I suspect it's an expectations thing.
I watched it with none, or very low, and was pleasantly surprised. It looks like I built yours up a bit too much!
Plot holes don't bother me a great deal - unless it's like a £200m production (Disney - Star Wars / Marvel) - Nothing in this film stopped me just going with it.

Infinity Chamber (Prime Video)
Low budget indie sci fi film where a man wakes up in a high tech prison with only a computer voice to keep him company, and keep him alive.
Really interesting & thought provoking film. If you liked Moon or Inception, I'd recommend this highly.
A very unexpected 9/10

Me and my 2 sons were outside Morrison's talking about people who are *********. Son says without thinking 'I'm getting good at sniffing out ********* a mile away' Me and other son start laughing. Son says what you laughing at? I say just think about what you said. Whenever someone annoys me I think of that and anger melts away!

It’s on its maiden run. Got a 1kg basic loaf on the go. Flour everywhere!!!

On the subject of bread makers, this was a non-lockdown purchase of about 4 years ago, which Mrs Wolfie thought was bizarre and I did wonder how much I would actually use it.
In the end, I make about 3 normal white/wholemeal mix loaves a week. Bloody lovely bread & much more healthy than shop-bought, with less than a quarter of the sugar and salt in those.
Also pizza dough (for the daddy & daughter pizza making sessions) and speciality breads. I made a sun-dried tomato and parmesan loaf last weekend to go with an italian meal I was making and it was soooo good.

It’s for comedy Butlins 80s weekender value, I’d post a pic but yeah, it doesn’t leave much to the imagination, so perhaps best not to! ?
Aaaah, we normally go to them but I normally only do Human League or Space Invader T-Shirt & glow sticks. You're obviously a seasoned pro!

Loved Pan's Labyrinth so will give this a go too.
Oh it's not on the same level as Pan's Labyrinth - one of my favourites. Such a shame Mrs Wolfie won't watch a film with subtitles. I know she would love it.
Scary Stories is still a lot better than most creepy films though. Helped by having characters you actually want to spend time with.
If you're a GDT fan, Crimson Peak is worth a watch as well.

Scary stories to tell in the dark (Prime)
Produced by Guillermo del Toro (my favourite Director) and about a group of kids who find a book in a scary house on Halloween, which then starts to write stories itself - and they come true.
Intelligently done with good suspense & chilling in places. Good characters too.
Solid 7/10

I have been having a cartoon confrontation with a squirrel for the past two weeks.
He runs along our fence and into a neighbouring garden and is obviously fed nuts.
He then scampers back along our fence, down into our garden and digs it up to bury his stash.
Sometimes he chooses our pot plants.
I then swear, throw open the patio doors and proceed to chase the little beggar round the garden.
My wife and the squirrel both seem to find this hugely entertaining.
I am getting increasingly exacerbated, especially when I discover walnuts when planting out.
Look out for us on Cartoon Network.

Just watched Solo which according to some comes after episode 3, to introduce Han Solo, chewbacca and the millennium falcon. Only a Star Wars story though so has no official number. Pretty good, fair bit of action and certainly better than the poor acting in episodes 1-3.
There was, but my problem with it was that there were all these amazing action set pieces and life threatening situations but you knew they were going to be OK. It's hard to inject some jeopardy and resulting tension into any prequel.
Far better acting than 1-3, though, as you say. Not as good a film as as Rogue One, though.

The Borderlands (on Prime)
Low budget British horror in the found-footage genre.
A team of Vatican investigators descend on a west country village church, to delve into strange goings-on.
A slow build and it took me a while to get into the way it was filmed - on headcams and fixed CCTV cameras etc but it's a decent watch. A few jump scares but a building tension and dread which is very effective & really ramps up towards the end.

A new hot tub.
Ours conked out last Christmas and I'm just buying a new one. Agonised over it for a long time in the current climate but me & Mrs Wolfie are relatively secure in work and with what we're saving during lockdown plus not going on holiday, it'll probably just about cover it.

Watched 9 series of it and loved it, but after a while tried season 10 but felt it wasn't as good anymore. Is it worth persisting?
I'd say it doesn't get any better after that.

Charlie Brooker's antiviral wipe was very good the other night. On iplayer, obviously.

Been binging Modern Family on Netflix over the last couple of days. I imagine most are aware of it as it’s not new but it’s truly excellent
It's just finished after 11 series and does tail off a bit but the first few series are excellent. I must have watched the yard sale episode 10 times. Love that one.
If you like that, then I'd recommend Life in Pieces as well.

Oh I agree & love the film as it is. Just that she's such a stubborn bugger & is missing out on one of the best films out there.
