This has probably been here before on this thread but people driving in fog with no lights on.

It's been a proper pea-souper this morning on the A1 (around Newark) and an incredible number of cars (and one fully laden coach!) with no lights on at all.

Then the opposite, where fools driving around with fog lights on a completely clear day.

Or using fog lights in lieu of dipped beam. It's not cool, doesn't make your car look sporty, just makes you look a tool.

I think what you're saying is that giving to charity is a personal choice and no one should feel co-erced, pressured or shamed into giving. Amen to that

When I worked for a certain DIY store, they used to run campaigns, asking people if they wanted to add a 50p donation to their shopping.

I flat refused, on that same principle. Earned me a disciplinary.

Worst still is the BP garage in Mickleover now has a M&S mini mart inside.  And as we all know M&S attracts the type of well-off, bored old folk that take 3 times as long to do anything!!!

That used to be the cheapest around for fuel. Now its a good 5p/l more than anywhere else. Bloody M+S.

don't know what to say Animal but keep grinding on, mate.

Easier said than done but you have to keep plugging away.

I thought we had a great health service. But there's no room for "poor customer service" in that game. It's not on mate. Hope you guys get a break from somewhere. There's still some saints working there I'm sure. You need some good luck ffs

    Cheers mate.

I hasten to add its not the day to day nursing staff, on the whole they've been excellent, putting up with his sense of humour. There was a lovely lad who stayed and chatted to him about the football for a good 10 or so minutes.

Its mostly the doctors. There must be a shortage, which is no surprise when its being stripped from the inside out. The latest one yesterday they sent up from oncology, apparently wasn't in a position to make a decision about the treatment. What use is that? They'd completely missed him the other day, he had to go to the ward desk and effectively chase one down...

    It's just so exasperating.

    How's everyone getting on Animal?

Wasn't expecting it to be easy, but certainly wasn't expecting it to be this difficult.

He's been in and out of Royal Derby, mostly due to post-chemo infections, but they finally seem to have the right blend of painkillers and anti-emetics for him.

It just seems to be that it looks like he's turning a corner, then something else trips him up.

Him losing heart and fight is starting to take its toll, not helped by poor 'customer service' by RDH.

My mother in law passed away yesterday evening, when it's less raw I'll maybe post more on the subject of end of life care, and the frankly shocking way some doctors treated her towards the end.

One thing I will say, the care and support shown by the nursing staff at the hospital, not just to her, but the family has made a difficult time so much easier.

I've heard them called angels many times in the past, but having witnessed the care they provide first hand, it's an appropriate tag.

Truly a credit to the NHS, each and every one of them .

    My condolences, reveldevil.

To echo your post - all the way through my 'father in law''s care so far, the doctors have been p*ss poor - but the support from nurses, porters, etc. has been first class

Can anyone translate for an oldie? tbf I've got some games on me phone....... chess and checkers

PC games have often been modified (modded) to change the base game, usually to add/remove/replace content or make it more of a challenge. Or in Skyrim's case.. replace dragons with Thomas the Tank.

Historically, its only been PC games purely because its that much easier to get at the files and structure behind the game, whereas console games have it all locked away on a disc. However due to the popularity, and many console users asking for it, its becoming more prevalent.

Does this clear it up, oldie? :p
