TigerTedd reacted to Day in Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.
Given the 4pt deduction last time, I’d be more tempted to stick two fingers up again, puts them in an unfair selling position that all clubs will know about.

But by that logic isn’t life just a meaningless folly, and what’s the point in any of it.
You never know, this could be the first step of a 10,000 year journey that eventually ends up with a human discovering the secret to saving the universe from imploding on itself.
In fact, not even the first step. It’s just another step.
Or at the end of this journey could be an Oppenheimer, only this time his worst fears come true and he starts a chain reaction that destroys the entire universe. We’ll never know, but none of it’s pointless.

I want Southgate gone as much as the next man but that's a bit extreme

TigerTedd reacted to TimRam in People who are universally loved
From my young niece to my Dad...all the family loved Rik Mayall. Me personally, followed his career since 'A Kick up the Eighties' and the Kevin Turvey character. Met him once after a standup show. He was very polite to myself and others. Happy to stay and do chat/autographs/pictures. We could not believe it when he passed away.

TigerTedd reacted to Bob The Badger in People who are universally loved
I suppose I based it on that I'd never heard anybody who had met them say anything other than good stuff. And all of the ones I mentioned, there is a lot of kind stuff under the radar that only gets out when the recipient shares it.
I knew a guy who was a lighting engineer on a bunch of Hollywood movies. He said Robbins always ate with the crew, ever stayed in his trailer as many do and would spend all his downtime talking to the crew and making everybody laugh. I also had a mate meet him in SF (my mate is a local) and he stopped to talk with him for 20 minutes.
Thinking about it, Keanu Reeves is another one who just seems to be a lovely, caring person by all accounts. I think a lack of ego is what I'm getting at.

I have been using Quora for 12+ years, and I love reading about celebrities who do good things and bad things.
I have heard most A-listers slated. And some, seemingly, are utter douches. Although I take the ones that start off with 'It didn't happen to me, but a friend of mine once...."
But, I have never heard a bad word from anybody who has met any of these four people. In fact, not sure I have even heard any 'my mate says he's a knob' stories either, and they are clearly universally loved.
Paul McCartney
Barrack Obama
Tom Hanks
Robin Williams
It's a pretty US-centric site, so are there any more, other than David Attenborough, about whom you have heard repeated nice things?
Not that I have heard anything good about DA per se that I can think of. But you could have seen him wearing a split Forest/Leeds shirt, Goosestepping up and down the King's Road dripping in cute, newly-slaughtered bunny rabbit blood and hurling racist obscenities, and I'd still want to hug him. So, he's a given.

Excitement from online commentators, and disbelief, that despite its ordeal Starship somehow made it all the way home, with a controlled soft landing in the Indian Ocean. These are the best engineers on the planet, making the vehicle that will transport us beyond it:

Here's the Starship descending through the atmosphere. The images are unreal:

Parts of Starship were burning off on the descent, this poor flap burning through yet somehow hanging in there to keep the vehicle stable. Great commentary from the joyous SpaceX team

What a day! What a flight test, with so much SpaceX knowhow coming together here. The catchphrase was "The payload is the data" and it's only possible for SpaceX to get so much data because of their global satellite constellation Starlink - for the first time we are seeing rocket descent through the plasma buildup from the heat of reentry into Earth's atmosphere. It's a sight to behold.
This is the biggest, most powerful rocket ever launched into space - and these are very early test flights - yet SpaceX almost always takes off on time and today was no exception. The bottom SuperHeavy booster has 33 Raptor engines. Last test, all 33 lit and performed, but this time one failed for some reason. However, there is a lot of redundancy in the system, so the launch was unaffected, all objectives met flying on 32.
Stage separation when SuperHeavy split from Starship was flawless. The SuperHeavy booster then relit the designated number of engines to send it back towards the launch site. In the future it will land back at Starbase in Texas, but for this test it "soft-landed" in the Gulf of Mexico, practising reducing its speed to zero with a final landing burn at the end. Incredible.

Eat the chocolate and sponge from round the side and under first. Pop the chocolate coated jelly in and let the chocolate dissolve just leaving the blob of orange jelly. Lovely.
My dad once brought home about 400 packets of Digestives that had fell of the back of a lorry in the early 80's. They were still there 2 years later when he absconded. Dried up portions of misery that are truly the biscuit of Satan. Everyday for eternity.

Having 26 as a squad list means we can gamble with Shaws fitness.
Branthwaite seems strange to me, then I think how much have I actually seen him play and how much is the hype surrounding him that has influenced them thoughts. Southgate seems happy with what he has, sees them in training, was an England defender and I don't think he has picked Dunk for the giggles, so have to back his judgement.

Launch window opens 1pm UK time on Thursday:
The good thing with the new FAA launch licence is that so long as most stuff goes well (ascent, separation, booster heading back to the Gulf, and orbital insertion for Starship) they can keep going with the flight tests without a new investigation every time they lose the vehicle. Which should mean a much increased rate of testing.
