  1. No doubt Clowes will get it in the ear from the faithless few on here who feel we can actually compete with Leeds and co right now, whilst still clearing admin debts and under a restrictive business plan. The thing is, the January window is typically a god-awful time to be trying to get anyone in on a fee. Buying clubs only tend to be looking because of injuries and / or the failure of a player(s) to shine and selling clubs just think of a number and then double it. Some will pay. We clearly won't and rightly so IMO. With us playing better of late and with a modicum of style to boot, I'd look to the loans market and see if we can't get a few decent young players in from PL or Championship clubs. There'll deffo be some needing football. An Attacking midfielder and an out and out striker would be nice, though TJJ is apparently back in training at last! If we can get everyone healthy and keep them that way, we might have enough quality at hand already, but with our injury record, maybe that's a gamble best avoided.
  2. His issue is that he's an attention-whore, desperately trying to boost his flagging profile at the expense of anyone you'd care to mention, in this case, us again. With a biggish fanbase, rocking the Derby boat almost guarantees him a minor spike in traffic and an all-important ego boost as he sees him name getting bandied about. Essentially, his issue is he's a two-bob ****, but sadly there's no cream to cure that affliction, so on he goes, cheerily supported by the likes of that Brizzle moron Mr Flopshischopsalot.
  3. Icelanders are a very hardy breed, but this must be very difficult, even for them. In some ways, a major quake would have been better, as there seems to be no 'closure', just a slow destruction of homes and infrastructure. It's very sad to see it and I can't imagine how folk on the ground must be feeling. Fingers and everything else crossed, the major quake either never arrives, or does so where less harm is done.
  4. @Van der MoodHoover just found this online. Some debut this was, blimey!
  5. Mini-review of the Maxwell innings here for anyone who wants to see him hit a double off one leg ๐Ÿ˜ฎ https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/cricket/13002917/highlights-glenn-maxwell-heroics-lead-australia-to-semi-finals
  6. Harry made a decent start I see ๐Ÿ˜ญ https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/67401692
  7. This made me smile. You guys! He's alright, it's just fun to take the piss out of him. That said, I'm not sure he's grown up too much based on the level of expletives used at his head engineer, even when winning races and I'd also venture that it's easier to appear classy when you've won 14 of the last 15 races. I'd still be hopeful that he will be absolutely losing the plot again with Karen in back up if anyone else produces a decent car ๐Ÿคฃ Vegas will be shoyte though
  8. So many funny memories of the lad; his player valuations, from which he could not be shifted and which seemed to infuriate some on here, much to other's amusement; his hilarious disdain for any pink strip and his vomit emoji protests when folk disagreed; his 'fondness' for Rick Parry and all things EFL. He was definitely a lad who had strong opinions and wasn't afraid to voice them, but always did so in a fashion that was humorous. One anecdote that always stuck in my head was him earnestly advising another forum member who jokingly suggested that his wife wasn't letting him out of the house to, 'pretend you're just nipping out for milk, but then come to the game instead'. Let's be honest, it's was a solid enough plan!
  9. Some game that. Blimey! Breathless stuff.
  10. Think this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but with the pattern of the Israeli landgrab becoming clearer, questions will inevitably be asked. Have to say that already, this has some disturbing similarities to 9/11 and the subsequent invasion of Iraq.
  11. How's that working out for you? ๐Ÿ˜‹ #nogooddeed
  12. That's a long mighty walk from what's his face's claim that, 'we're paying Embleton's wages for the whole season' is the point I was making.
  13. Kane now cemented in the Bundesliga record books. Nice to see the lad prosper and the Bayern fans have understandably taken to him in no uncertain fashion. He might just be the most complete striker out there right now and it's all down to his own hard graft. More power to him. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67391194
  14. We're not though, are we? Where have you read that?
  15. Stay safe Ramit, you and all yours. Hope this is over sooner rather than later.
  16. Best way to avoid a card on top, I reckon. Pen all day long. 1/14
  17. 1Wildsmith - 7.5 - excellent early save and ball distribution 24Nyambe - 7.0 - classy player, always look comfortable 5Bradley - 6.5 - still struggling with his confidence 35Nelson - 8.0 - another assured performance 6Cashin - 8.0 - reckon Cash has been doing some sprint training 3Forsyth - 8.5 - Foz is just Foz, nuff said really 4Hourihane - 7.0 - solid, if unspectacular 7Barkhuizen - 6.5 - can't fault his vision and ran hard all game, but ultimately a day to forget for Tom 17Sibley - 6.5 - cracking effort from outside the box reminds us of his threat, but profligate with the ball at times too 12Smith - 6.0 - I barely remember him so have perhaps unfairly marked him down a bit - soz Koz! 8Bird ๐Ÿฆ… - 7.0 - a controlled performance 11Mรฉndez-Laing - 8.0 - poor FB was gutted by Nate on numerous occasions - head up though son! 2Wilson - 8.5 - said on here a while back that he could be a big player for us and that's starting to look likely 9Collins - 9.0 - the L1 Haaland
  18. I watched Dumb Money last night, hoping for a feelgood movie after yesterday's sad news. The movie documents the Gamestop short-squeeze during the pandemic telling the story through some of the rag-tag collective of 'little guys' who took on Wall Street. It's an easy and pleasant watch and an interesting tale even if you are already familiar with what happened. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13957560/
  19. Have you worked your way through all of Better Call Saul? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3032476/
  20. This is really upsetting news. He was the sweetest lad you could meet and fiercely loyal to this club of ours. I liked him a lot and loved his sabre-rattling threads. I'm really going to miss him. Rest easy soft lad โค๏ธ
  21. I've thought of a couple but I just can't, family website after all ๐Ÿ˜‚
