  1. Great to see the lads secure the win and to see B4 remembered so fondly and respectfully. Under pressure after the capitulation against Crewe, it wasn't pretty, but it's a result we earned against a stubborn enough opponent. Top 6, a couple more arriving back off injury layoffs, two wins off the autos. B4 would have been bouncing for sure. Suspect he'd have quite enjoyed the Gumps getting beat yet again too 😂 COYR
  2. 20 Days in Mariupol - Brilliant, if harrowing documentary filmed by Associated Press reporters trapped in in the besieged city.
  3. I'm not sure how the systematic slaughter of 14,000 civilians speaks to 'democracy'. When a state's response to losing 1,400 of their civilians is to kill ten times as many in retribution, debates for the moral high ground seem more than a tad fatuous.
  4. From what I hare, those aren't rabbits.
  5. Feels like a big game, even though there's a long, long way to go yet. Our league form has spiked noticeably in our last few games, but we've been really patchy elsewhere and that inconsistency remains a significant worry. My hunch is that the lads are very much focussed on the league. For my part, I'm hoping we set up like the better side, as I believe we are. If we play anything like we did against Northampton or Barnsley, I think we will win and win well. I'd expect CM to chip in with a goal at some point though, likewise the Derby faithful to show him some love whatever happens. COYR
  6. It's not though, is it. Objectively, it's a decent car, but it's not even close to being the best car Lexus have built. It wasn't. Had it been, 20 years ago it would have been competing with a DB9 or a Continental GT, which is like conflating Katie Hopkins and Kate Moss. The car actually was built to try and tap into the Mercedes SL market.
  7. Even Daniella Westbrook couldn't shovel that pile up her schnoz.
  8. In fairness, he'd probably have a few choice observations to share with you too.
  9. In fairness, they might, but like you, I don't see it. The Israelis have claimed a deal more of the disputed regions as their own and that is definitely a part of the long-term strategic aim, so it wouldn't be viewed as a climb-down IMO and could almost be see as good PR. For me, Netanyahu's purpose is two-fold and it can sensibly be argued that part of their objective has been achieved, with the remaining target closer, if not in hand. It's a long old game this! That said, I think only the West can actually bring pressure to bear for an indefinite ceasefire, though is it in their interests to do so? I fear not and as has always been the case, that commercial considerations will trump any and all others. I don't remember who said it, or the exact quote, but it is words to the effect of, "evil prevails while good men look away" and that is exactly what we are seeing here and have always seen, especially in the last 80 years. What that period of history tells me in no uncertain terms, is that by far the most likely outcome is that things will continue just as they have and the oil will continue to flow.
  10. Some pals keep telling me to watch it. I'm pretty log jammed right now though but will grab for future viewing as it sounds like the perfect antidote to excess Xmas schmaltz.
  11. And you call other people bitchy 🤣 In any case, I'm sure Stive sleeps far better for knowing that at very least, he retains you as an avid reader.
  12. I binned off Twitter when Musk used the platform to try and humiliate Haraldur Thorleifsson over his disabilities. That was probably, above all the other stuff, the bit that persuaded me irrevocably, that Musk is a colossal ***t. The mealy-mouthed excuses did little to appease me. It's fair to say that at that point, the functionality and general environment of the platform became irrelevant midst the sheer deluge of Musk bile emitted via his feed, all hours of the day and night. In the last two years he's managed to wipe out 45% of the value of Tesla and over 80% of the value of Twitter. His growing dependency on ketamine is also fairly evident, as are the associated side effects we see him exhibiting. He's going to need to kick that habit, as shareholders are getting increasingly twitchy and are again considering moves to have Musk removed from the Tesla board of directors. For the first time, I feel like it's more likely than not.
  13. On the one hand, you have a toxic, money-grabbing little man, so low he'd steal Christmas money from kids. On the other, an elf.
  14. Another one my old mum introduced. I think she fancied Jim, by the way she used to carry on about him, but he was a bit of a sex god I suppose and the music ain't bad either.
  15. Everyone's a critic 😂 For the little it's worth, I quite like your stuff mate. Reminds me a little of Counting Crows, or maybe Hootie, though you may not welcome that feedback either! Not so Haunted sticks in my mind from the first release, but I'll give the new EP a whirl in any case.
  16. Have to say he looks in great condition for the upcoming cage fight, though that's a fair portion of chips and I'd be advising him to cut down on the carbs if he wants to be entering the ring looking as dench as he does now. Zuckerberg is going to have his hands full, in more ways than one 😱
  17. I see the Qataris have poked their head over the parapet. They are obviously delighted to portray this as a 'win' against the 'infidel', but their grandstanding seems horribly distasteful given the ongoing plight of their neighbours. As has been the case all my life, my sympathies remain with ordinary Palestinian families trying to carve out a life under the most grim conditions imaginable and the families of those innocent Israelis slaughtered by Hamas. For the Palestinians, the nightmare continues indefinitely, as they are trapped; on one side, Qatar and Qatari state-funded Hamas (Iran too), on the other, the Israeli Defence Force, funded and armed by Israel and the West. Sadly, the lines between terrorist, freedom fighter and legitimate government have now blurred to such an extent that to all intents and purposes, they no longer exist. In spite of the ceasefire, which I obviously welcome, I see no meaningful end to hostilities in the region until the Middle East's resources have been sucked dry. Indeed, I expect tensions to heighten. As for the Palestinians, lord knows what becomes of them.
  18. Dead ringer for his avatar, I reckon. The Derby Kung Fu Panda.
  19. The defence for me would be the same as for most, though I might have Reece James in there, assuming he can be kept healthy. In midfield, the only conundrum is who plays alongside the incumbents? Bellingham is first name of the page and Rice isn't far behind, so I'd look at Ward-Prowse and Maddison as players in good form currently for the final slot. Upfront, Kane and Saka would have to start for me, though it's harder to complete the trio. Rashford frustrates me as his form is so patchy, but when he's on it, he's unplayable. Foden would be next in as things stand, though in fairness, Gordon may have usurped him in the pecking order by the end of the season. He looks on to be on a Bellingham-like arc and is very exciting. My right-here-right-now 11 would be: GK: Pope RB: James CB: Stones CB: Guehi LB: Chilwell CM: Ward-Prowse CM: Rice AM: Bellingham RW: Saka LW: Rashford CF: Kane
  20. What's caused so many folk to be happy to see the Indians beat. They seem to have put noses out of joint but is this just them wanting things their way as per, or something more? Seen nothing in the press.
  21. Really? Where are these posts? I don't see anyone saying we've performed as well as we could have, only lots of folk moaning that we haven't.
  22. Put your fingers in your ears, ignore the advertisers deserting the platform in droves and sing out loud....
  23. Lots of missing bodies obviously, but that was all a bit shyte.
