  1. I'd be keeping things simple with a chorus or two of, "One Daniel Beavis". Seems an apt and fitting chant and I'd like to think B4 would absolutely love it.
  2. Look on the brightside, in 5 years, when the Liberty have completely squeezed the pips out of it, the Saudis state will buy F1 for 3 times what it's worth and then stage every race around the streets of Jeddah, with literally nobody watching. Imagine how cheap the tickets will be! You'll even be able to afford an Air BNB in Monaco during race week. No racing mind, but hey, you can't have everything. Good to see the drivers, (yes, him too) giving it a resounding 'oh do **** off', as well as binning off the meet and greet. Wish I could have seen Stefano Domenicali's reaction when he realised not one of the top drivers were going to rock up. Even baby Stroll blanked him 🫢
  3. The Old Oak - an important and timely offering from Ken Loach, a man whose powers and passion remain undiminished by time. Very much a tale for our times, The Old Oak portrays a dying Northern town, still reeling from pit closures and the hardships that followed and the conflicts arising when Syrian refugees pitch up. Alternately uplifting and heart rending, as always, Loach leaves space for hope and also reminds us of the inherent goodness of most ordinary folk and how hardship can make them seem less than they are. I loved this film. It doesn't preach, it's not in any way prescriptive and its devoid of the artifice and cynicism of so much glossier output. With Loach now in his 87th year, it's one to treasure. Very few if any these days are interested in making films that really inform, but if this is to be his last film, I'm happy to say it's right up there with the very best of his catalogue. Dave Turner is nigh perfect as beleaguered landlord TJ, fighting to keep the peace and his head above water. New face, Ebla Mari, is also excellent in the role of Yara, a young refugee. Stimac / 10
  4. I have it on good authority that Roy did in fact attend the game, as he was seen driving away from the ground.
  5. I'm deffo not watching it now 🤣 #bahhumbug
  6. Scoff all you like Andy, but my personal light of human consciousness burns a little brighter for this landmark victory.
  7. This made me chuckle. I reckon you and my old man would have some interesting stories to swap. I note from some of your posts over the years that you've been to some other 'interesting spots', not just Salone. For his part, my dad seemed to spend a disproportionate amount of time in African war zones throughout his 'career' and until I was about 20 I honestly believed it was because he was good at languages 😂
  8. I really ought to feel excited, but oddly I've got a severe case of CBA, but don't know why. Feels like we've been waiting for years and even now the AJ-Wilder fight has been ringfenced for another lucrative night out for all concerned. It has the feel of a collective of very wealthy fighter and promoters squeezing the last pips out of fight fans before heading West with their coffers truly stuffed. Not gonna lie, but that same reasoning still allows me to be pissed that the Saudis are staging these fights, but that tells you all you need to know about the fight game these days. That said, probably I'll cave and tune in, so perhaps I'm just being an uppity dick about it all. What really grates for me, is that for all the sound and fury (excuse pun), this is a very hollow division with a man at the top who just took a pasting from an MMA fighter. Just realised how grumpy I'm being. I'll f*** off now 🤣
  9. Scanning related media, it's hard to believe that the West has not taken leave of its senses, with hostilities intensifying, not calming and still nothing more than mealy-mouthed PR statements to show. There's so much divisive BS being peddled it is beginning to feel somewhat hopeless. In truth, I think Hamas are scum, but I cannot countenance the conduct of the IDF since the opening atrocities. Their entire demeanour is utterly repugnant and the ongoing senseless slaughter of innocent civilians is as bad as it gets. What a time to be alive, huh! 🙈🙉🙊
  10. Any Jihadi worth his salt knows that you never enter into holy war with the infidels without a valid passport, with any required visas neatly stamped in the back. After all, one simply never knows when one will need to drop everything and head to Doha.
  11. I think buying every player who has a good game against us makes perfect sense. I don't doubt we'll be straight back to the Prem employing those tactics. Warne / Clowes (insert any others) should both hounded out of the club if White does not start the NY as a Derby player. Easy game this footy manager lark 🥱
  12. Folk don't need to 'answer every question you ask' matey! Am I doing it right? 🤣
  13. 100 commandos breached Al-Shifa hospital last night. Rolled up with 6 tanks apparently. From the BBC article: Dr Mokhallalati told the BBC on Wednesday that the hospital was without power, oxygen and water. On Tuesday essential surgeries had been carried out without proper anaesthesia, with patients "screaming in pain". No surgeries could be carried out on Wednesday. Doctors were unable to help one patient with burns on Tuesday due to lack of equipment including ventilators and had to just "let him die". Meanwhile six premature babies had died in recent days and Dr Mokhallalati said he feared more would die due to lack of oxygen and lack of power. Reports on Al Jazeera indicate no shots were fired as no Hamas presence was detected, despite US intelligence confirming them as having a base at the hospital.
  14. It's a valid point, but he did have the option to start fresh legs and chose not to. It would seem the players might not have been terribly impressed with that call, though right now I can't say I'm too impressed with them either. That said, if they reappear in 11 days and batter Rovers, I'm sure I'll get over it. COYR
  15. Jake Mulraney looks ok in those clips too, their number 20, playing right wing.
  16. Done mate. I've linked in this thread for context.
  17. He won't rock the boat with Braverman loitering stage-left. He can't be seen to look weak, now more than ever. First sign of bending and that bitch will be publicly jumping up and down on his nads, whilst squealing 'traitor'. Frankly, if we're looking to him to grow a pair and actually address the issue at hand, we could be in for a very long wait, though I suspect that privately, he might have plenty to say.
