  1. Care to provide a citation? I don't recall him saying anything of the sort.
  2. Because he wants to ensure that his principle aims of restoring the club's footing and delivering a sustainable future are both achieved. Did that really require explaining?
  3. Trip back to the smoke and a nice performance away from home and 3 more valuable points. I thought we rode our luck a little at times, but by and large we defended well again and the clean sheet will delight Warne and the coaches. Great to see Sibbo grab a goal. The lad only seems to score beautiful goals and how he squeezed it beyond the keeper but inside the far post is a wonder to me. Zero margin for error and yet made it look simple. I think we'd all love to see the lad hit top form as there's no doubt he brings a goal threat that others don't. I think only Max could match Louie's ball-striking, so come on SIbbo, more of the same please lad! I'm running out of superlatives for Nate who was yet again, the absolute standout. He's definitely fitter this season (as it appears is the entire squad) and the lad ran hard all game, looked threatening every time he touched the ball and earned himself huge brownie points with me for the unselfish way he put Barks in, perhaps aware that if anyone desperately needed a goal, it was Tom. Wilson was again a box of tricks and the little shimmy and drag to glide away from 3 Orient defenders and put Sibbo in was a delight. A quick word too for Max Bird who is starting to look like the player we all thought he could be. He's been majestic in recent outings and again yesterday, some of his passing was sublime. Warne is then keeping himself in good credit with me and the way we countered yesterday with 4, 5 even 6 bodies busting a gut to get up the pitch was a stark change from early season showings, where we looked off it and even disinterested. Lots of promise, a little more pace and a growing understanding among the players, but still some work to do. That said, I think I'd have been very pleased to sit handy like we are currently, if offered it at the start of the season and I really hope we can maintain the levels and push hard for top 2. We are THE form side in the division currently so I genuinely believe we can, as I think there's still more to come. COYR
  4. Arundell continues to score at an average of over one try per game in Toulouse. Interesting that they appear to be switching him to 15, presumably to get him ball in hand and in space more often. To say I'm jealous is something of an understatement and it's fair to say the locals have rather taken a shine to him. I cant say I know what he's like under a spiral bomb, but assuming he's at least adequate (starting at 15 for Toulouse suggests he might be) then what a prospect he is running from deep or on the angle. Seething, I am! πŸ˜‚ Also, had not realised that Saffa skipper Siya Kolisi lad joined them this season as well and the French sides look terrifying, even if you set aside La Rochelle (and frankly, who will do that?!?!). For any of you thinking a libation or several and a game of rugby from the warmth of your living room might trump the 9th Christmas market of the season, Toulouse take on the Quins tomorrow @5.30PM and I wouldn't put anyone off watching the game, which really ought to be a belter. Bah humbug!
  5. Slight tangent, but this reminded me of this guy in Ohio
  6. If you happen to be unfortunate enough within 50 miles of Nottingham, you might, I suppose get some banter, but then that's your own stupid fault for not moving. At a more than safe radius of 125 miles, I can honestly say I've never had anyone laugh it up at the Mighty Rams' expense except for my lad and a spending a week chained to a lawn mover in a locked garage seems to have dissuaded him from ever mentioning it again.
  7. I'll do no such thing you filthy beggar!
  8. Yeah, he's definitely cute. All the whippet / greyhound types are good looking hounds. He looked resigned more than pissed off anyway πŸ˜‚
  9. He doesn't look wildly impressed with his new hat πŸ˜‚
  10. Soz mate. We really are a bunch of ****s πŸ˜‚ Have a look at these. https://www.footyparking.com/parking/teams/Leyton-Orient https://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/near/leyton-orient-football-club-ltd/?arriving=202312081330&leaving=202312081530 Some more advice from locals here: https://forum.thefishy.co.uk/Blah.pl?m-1658126018/
  11. Alright Facty McFactface, you can stop ruining my fun now! 🀬🀣
  12. Bottom of the form table currently. They're even worse than Sheffield over the last 6 games which one would think would be next to impossible. One more loss and Coop's in the poop, I reckon, with Lopetegui already lined up to replace him. Shame really as I reckon he might have got them relegated.
  13. The plan runs until Summer 2024, so we remain under some restrictions and doubtless more stringent compliancy than other clubs too and I don't see that being arguable. Also, just a hunch, but personally, I don't think Clowes will want us to be seen to splash any hefty sums prior to us at least having cleared the 25p in the pound we offered our creditors in order to escape administration. Perhaps I'm being naΓ―ve, but Clowes seems the absolute antithesis of Morris and I don't doubt for a moment that mending the reputation of Derby County Football Club has been very much at the forefront of his thinking. For that reason, I think signings like Nombe last window and this lad this time around are likely to be a real push even if they are feasible from a commercial / regulatory standpoint. I'd be delighted to be wrong though, I can assure you! As for the loans, I doubt many of the top boys will be in L1 and I think we are better positioned to attract some good lads, if not the top ones, purely because we are actually playing decent football right now and the dust is settling on an incredibly tumultuous period of the club's history. Put simply, we're no longer the basket case of the last few years and I think that definitely makes the decision easier for clubs looking to loan out younger players. Whether it plays out that way, well we'll have to wait and see, but I do think it's now a lot easier to send kids to us than it was even at the beginning of this season.
  14. I'd be amazed if we can compete for this type of signing before exiting the current agreed business plan and having settled with HMRC et al. It's a shame as this kid looks a baller, no doubt, but there'll surely be any number of clubs looking at him right now and I think we need to temper expectations in what could be a tricky window, even without the current restrictions. Looking at things slightly less pessimistically, if we've moved onto the heels of top two and are flying when the window opens, that would significantly strengthen our pitch, as I do think the lad would probably want a crack at the Championship sooner rather than later. I hope I'm wrong as I think this would be an exciting piece of business and precisely the kind I'd hope we'd be doing were our hands not still somewhat tied, the one small mercy being this will be the last window where any restrictions apply. For my own part, I'm resigned to the fact that we are once again going to be limited to looking for loans, though that's not the worst place to be.
  15. Joey Barton being an absolute whopper again? Well colour me surprised! πŸ˜†
  16. I think your sarcasm detector may need recalibration bud πŸ˜‰
  17. Sloth and Spyros have collectively spunked @£150 million to date, while Rooney had an embargo, 50p and a couple of conkers. Hilariously, despite apparently having all the cash in Colombia and the benefit of Cooper's immense tactical nous, here you are getting dry-humped 5-0 by by Premier League behemoths, Fulham. Absolutely fookin priceless 🀣
  18. Kenya quit with the crappy puns. Serious match thread, this! 🀬
  19. Well, let's put it this way, if it were anyone else, I'd be incredulous πŸ˜‰
  20. Sorry mate, I've not phrased my question very well. What I should have asked was, do we feel like the three parties would agree? I feel like TJJ is having fun, the lads seem to have taken to him and I feel certain that the club would want to retain him, so might there be any reason Arsenal would recall him? I'm hoping not as he's been here throughout his injuries and we'll only have had him available for a few games. I'm hoping the fact that he also appears to be prospering under Warne will stand us in good stead too 🀞
  21. What do we reckon are the chances we can extend his stay? He seems to have been well minded and the other lads have taken to him too. I'd be hopeful on that admittedly flimsy premise.
  22. And so it begins... You'd think the RFU might look at the utter shambles the WRU made of their domestic game and the effect of certain selection policies on the national side and think something other than, they did a cracking job, let's copy them πŸ˜‚ Anyway, between the stuffed shirts and a small and mindless minority of fair-weather fans, I think some England lads have had enough and I predict something of an exodus to France and a severely weakened England team as a consequence. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/67611667
  23. Vickers 7.5 a very Wildsmith type performance, in that he did very well when needed Wilson 8.0 puts bums on seats and defenders on their arses, what's not to love? Definitely something of the Jamie Ward about him which given I rated Jamie pretty highly, is a good thing Nelson 6.0 Nyambe was slightly off it last time out and Nelson last night, but he's been excellent thus far and remains in credit with me at least Forsyth 6.0 See Nelson only difference being Fozz's credit is AAA Rated Hourihane 7.0 A quietly efficient, if slightly unspectacular outing Fapetu 6.5 Raw but has literally zero fear. Certainly won't be bullied to often and has some wheels. Tackles like a loon too so I'm thinking future fan's favourite if he can progress Bradley 7.0 Barely put a foot wrong, but that won't stop some giving him the needle. I've a hunch he'll be a mainstay by the end of the season Cashin 7.5 I hate the having bandwidth idiom, but it definitely applies to Eiran. In another version of reality, we're in the Premier League and he's our skipper and on a 5 year contract Barkhuizen 5.0 Soz Tom, but you're a fookin mile of the pace and have been for a while now. Get your head in the game and sharpish! John-Jules 7.5 on admittedly limited evidence, this lad might be a class apart in this league. He does make things look stupidly easy and and if my visual impression is a fair reflection of his ability then we could be in for some fun Bird 8.0 Max seems to be a deal more consistent his season and I think there's more to come Collins 8.5 battled like a feckin Trojan and got his goals, Collo remains a more useful cog in the machine than some see Weston 6.5 Looked a little lightweight Waghorn 6.0 Waggy is a tad in an out and it'd be be good to see him score soon to ward doubts away Mendez-Laing 6.5 Didn't need to be at his best Ward 7.5 well that was pretty sweet huh! I see what we might get from him now though some interesting selection quandaries lie ahead. A problem you'd rather have than not, I guess! Another routine win with a clean sheet too, it was Fleetwood who put an end to that glorious run last season IIRC. No such danger this time around as they were swept aside with minimal fuss. Well done gaffer, well done the lads.
