His intelligent play makes space and time for others. I’ve been impressed by his attitude. I haven’t seen a Derby player with quicker feet for a while and I love it when he makes defenders look daft.

He should start every game for me, ideally on the right of a four man midfield.

    Ebiowei = very quick feet

Latest press conference was a barrel of laughs.

Got no right back for Monday.

Arsenal are playing hardball over TJJ despite his contract expiring in the summer.

OAP's like Hourihane, Barkhuizen etc could be playing for us for another season.

    Sound.

Just to put another scapegoat out there..is this all down to Stephen Pearce...our "FFP expert" as Mel once said!

  3. Agreed, but most of this could have been done ages ago...the final questions from Jan1st..but it could be planned much better...

Re right back. It is abundantly clear that Nyambe is the only right back that we have...very stupid imo.

Warne obviously planned for 3 at the back and  wing backs...but this proved to be awful..however Wilson can play further forward, as can Ward..although i'd get rid of Ward.

The irony is, both Fozzy and Elder are left backs...we don't have a left wing back, and Bradley is useless in a 3!

  4. This has happened recently when he goes to a back 3 and has just 2 in central midfield.

When he changed to playing effectively 433, we had the extra man ( even if it was Smith) sat in front..this stopped us being overrun in midfield.

I would like to see a 433 when everyone is fit..with Bird, Thompson and a new CM sat in front.

I think we need 3 new players..CM, Winger( Blackett Taylor??) & Centre Forward...

                       Wildsmith

    Nyambe    Nelson   Cashin   Forsyth

                           NEW CM

               Thompson        Bird

    Mendez Laing            Blackett Taylor

                             NEW CF

Players to keep for next season :

    Wildsmith Vickers

    Nyambe Wilson

    Nelson Cashin Rooney

    Bird Thompson Robinson

    NML Collins

    Off Load

Loach, Fozzy, Elder, Bradley, Fornah, Hourihane, Sibley, Barks, JJ, Waggy, Washington.

So 50% turnover some will attract modest fees others not.

Keep Fozzy, get rid of Collins

If we go up I’d keep the following and add to the following areas of the team to get us at least half way up the championship - obviously depends on formations too…

    Gk - New

    Right Back - Niambi

    Left Back - New

    Centre half - Cashin

    Centre half - Nelson

    Right Mid - Wilson

    Centre Mid - New

    Centre Mid - Bird

    Left Mid - Mendez

    Striker - New

    Striker - New

Subs - Collins, Ward, Thompson , New, New,New,New…..

Love our current lads but without strengthening I fear we’d do a Wednesday and struggle and feel we’d need to alter the style of play a little to do well in the championship …but that’s a entiiiiiirrrrreeeelllyyyy different thread

I would keep Wildsmith and Fozzy, but not Ward or Collins...and agree with your other choices

Don’t hold me to it obviously because I have no clue on how true/fake it is, but someone I know who is a chesterfield fan and knows a lot of people told me today that we have put in a bid for Dobra. Make of it what you will but it seems like there is definitely long term interest.

I also have a friend who is a Chesterfield fan..he told me last week that we were after Dobra

Pw "“It’s evident we need one or two players to help us over the line but there are no guarantees. Everybody is trying actively to reinforce it but I’ve said loads of times that the best teams who went up last year, didn’t lose anyone and improved. We didn’t improve. We kept the same group and they just fatigued by the end. We have an older team than a lot of others but we need fresh blood I think.”

How important is the January window to Derby County’s chances?

This time last year, Derby County sat in the same position in League One – in fourth place. Just like this season, they also sat three points from seventh.

The Rams went onto make three loan signings in the January window – Tottenham’s Harvey White, Forest Green Rovers’ Luke McGee and Norwich City’s Tony Springett.

While the clubs around them improved, Derby didn’t, and instead they begun dropping points to the likes of Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers, before they eventually finished one point outside the play-offs.

Derby County would be stupid to make the same mistake again and really ought to provide Paul Warne with the tools he needs to make this a solid second half to the campaign, because otherwise we will be back here starting all over again in eight months time.

    But without Cashin & Bird!

It’s true about him ducking under a couple of high balls….one particular one when he seemed to not relish the challenge and was easily beaten in the air… Cash scrambling back to clear near the line- but succeeding in winning a goal kick…

surprised me- that was supposed to be his strength…. Leftover from the bang on the nose last game maybe ????

No..ive noticed this every time he plays..he does duck under the ball...totally the opposite to what i expected!

  10. Currently playing 2 in central midfield..Bird and Hourihane.

We also have Thompson, Fornah, Smith and Sibley...thats 6 players for 2 positions....

Even if he changes back to playing 3 in there, we have enough bodies.

What we do need is another quick winger to match Mendez Laing, as,Barkhuizen is the current choice.

Personally, i'd like to see John Jules play, although not sure if you play him up front or out wide...

Talking of up front, Waghorn and Washington are good back ups , when fit, but Collins is not good enough as our main striker.

He doesn't have the instinct or finishing quality for a top 2 team.

He does run around alot and that effort maybe still an assett for the run in, but we do need to sign a goalscorer!

How about a cheeky bid for Jonson Clarke Harris on Jan 1st..before we play the game versus 'The Posh'!

How would we know if he’s better than Collins? Thursday night he had one decent piece of service and bagged. Every other cross delivered was cleared or went 10 yards over his head. Unless Juke is 17 ft tall he isn’t scoring from them crosses either.

There was alot of crosses that went near post from Ward...Collins didn't get across the defender...the timing of his runs is nowhere near..unfortunately..

  12. Okay, Smith maybe doesn't stack up..but Rhodes played majority at a higher level and more goals with less games.

Jutkiewicz also played mostly at higher level.

Its my opinion, but i would have either of them over Collins.

I don't think Collins is a good player, but i do appreciate his workrate..which is something fans love...

I suppose having watched, Hector, Lee, George, Saunders, Goddard, etc, i have higher standards, but even at lower level, Davison , Gee , Howard,  Vydra, Martin...all so much better than Collins though...

  13. Just an observation. Ward gave away a penalty in both the last 2 games..and is obviously not a defender.

In the 1st half v Lincoln, he did cross quite a few which went near post...Collins failed to get across the front defender...in fact after about 5 of these, the next cross went higher and the keeper caught it...ironically Collins went near post!

Without stating the bleeding obvious, Collins does not have the instinct of a goalscorer, and always seems to be in the wrong place when balls are in the 6 yard box...the amount of times its just behind him or just in front of him...

He works hard, unfortunately, he just hasn't got it...although very pleased for him with his goal last night.
