Exactly this on the wages. It'll be a real kick in the teeth for all the local businesses that had to take fractions of the debts owed them with the admin.
DC is running the club with the ethos of integrity, whilst ensuring a sustainable and reputable club. Going back to the old ways of boom or bust immediately on promotion would just be plain stupid. Something that he isn't.
We're a much better thought of club and business now. Let's keep it like that.

If we spent 20k on anyone’s wages I’d be hugely disappointed. We’ve just come out of a situation where over spending and gambles nearly put us in the floor.
Yes, we’ll need to make a few addition in the summer but it won’t be a massive overhaul as you suggest.

Yet a player who almost joined a PL club in the summer wouldn't be good enough to step up to the Championship?
Or the player who leads the goals and assists chart in League 1? But you suggest a forward with half as many goal involvements in the same league, another forward who has failed to score in 2 out of his 3 league seasons at his current club (43 apps in total), another who hasn't scored this season, with a season high of 8 goals, and another who would destroy our summer transfer budget.
You suggested 5 different RWBs despite us already having 2 contracted for next season, with  strong 3rd choice as cover - clearly not a position we'll be recruiting.
Then there's also a number of others who will be massively outside of our wage structure, such as McKenna, Worrall and McBurnie.

    Unfounded, ha.
Wycombe knew we couldn't defend their claim as we didn't have time and it was a potential blocker to a sale. It was extortion plain and simple. Revolting little club.

He'll probably try and sell it back to them at a large profit once someone takes over, be that through a sale or administration.
An odious chairman of a small time, tin pot club. He's a typical American capitalist who doesn't let emotion or morals get in the way of an opportunity.

So the Wycombe money for this is being pumped in by a Georgian billionaire with links to sanctioned Russians.
Wycombe are simply disgusting. Extorted us during admin when we had no means to defend ourselves and now this? Utterly revolting. If they ever find themselves in trouble I'll have no sympathy for them.

Sign players who are used to playing in the sytem we're trying to implements and stick to that system. We'll then have a higher success rate with signings. Signing wingers, wing-backs, or full backs, then not playing with wingers, wing-backs, or full backs, is a recipe for failure. So too is signing slower defenders to play in a high line, orleavijg them exposed by pushing the other CBs high up the pitch.
Flip flopping between formations and having a mish-mash of players who prefer different formations (including the ones signed by Warne) were probably bigger reasons. We're looking better now because this formation suits the majority of our fit squad members.
We had Mendez-Laing and Barkhuizen contracted for the season, but Warne wanted to play a system which didn't use them so didn't sign anyone to play out wide. Except, a few weeks into the season we decided we now did want to play with wingers, but only had 2 players who were comfortable playing there. On to January, we finally sign a winger, only to change to a system which doesn't use wingers the very next day. With him back from injury and getting opportunities off the bench in a more settled system, he's starting to look better.
We signed Elder to play a fairly unfamiliar LWB role and he struggled early on. He then picked up an injury which kept him out for a while. He returned when we were playing a back 4 and looked settled after a couple of games. Picked up another injury and we've gone back to wing backs. Where will he fit in long term?
Wilson and Ward were signed for the RWB role but had niggles. Nyambe came in and we shifted away from a setup which used RWBs. Upon their return, we stuck with 4 at the back, which meant Ward/Wilson had to either play at RB where they have at times struggled defensively, or further forward where Ward doesn't have to pace to beat a man, and Wilson lacks consistent end product.
Which brings us back to Nyambe. Where will he fit in? He's good 3rd choice cover at RWB (behind Ward and Wilson), but you don't want him playing there too often due to his poor end product. He doesn't get in at RCB over Nelson, so would we drop one of our highest earners (Bradley) to put him in? Or do we go back to a back 4, drop Bradley and waste Ward/Wilson?

We're then onto the truly bad buys...
Fornah was always a bad buy who will cost us a few hundred thousand eventually. When we already had Bird, Hourihane, Smith, Thompson, and Sibley, with DRobinson coming through, Fornah wasn't the right type of player to sign. We needed either an out and out DM (such as Adams), or an AM with end product.
Embleton and John-Jules were high risk signings we should never have taken. With a number of other injury risks in the squad (Forsyth, Elder, Wilson, Waghorn, Washington) we couldn't afford to take on more. Embleton had only just returned to training after being out since December, and John-Jules was signed injured, having been out since the previous October.

Your line of posting seems ill informed or wilfully ignorant to the current make up of our squad, their contracts, the recent financial restrictions, the approach of the management towards recruitment, the apparent financial prudence of our owner.
The fact other posters are calling this out doesn’t make them or myself “happy clappers”, we all accept the squad will need strengthening in the summer, and most of us will be able to name some players we would thank and wave on as their contracts expire.

    But the realistic and informed Rams fans on here will know that the squad will likely include at least SOME of the following players given they are contracted beyond the summer and the fact some of them definitely can still offer an option in the championship alongside further additions;
    Josh Vickers - GK
    Ryan Nyambe - RB
    Callum Elder - LB
    Sonny Bradley - CB
    Curtis Nelson - CB
    Jake Rooney - CB
    Eiran Cashin - CB
    Kane Wilson - RWB
    Joe Ward - RWB
    Tyrese Fornah - CM
    Corey Blackett-Taylor - WF
    Nathaniel Mendez-Laing - WF
    Conor Washington - CF
Clear some additions will be needed, could be that current members of the squad have their contracts extended, the likes of Sibley, Robinson, Wildsmith, Barkhuizen, Collins and others COULD extend their deals and may do a job as we transition into the next season.
There’ll no doubt be plenty of exciting new signings, and many will want loan signing Ebou Adams to join permanently, but to suggest some of the above names who have shown they can play in the championship wouldn’t be able to step up in some capacity alongside new additions seems wild to me.

What are you talking about? Labelling people happy clappers based on what? That we don’t agree with your growing list of random player suggestions while you fail to qualify your opinions on the current Derby squad beyond vague generalisations and the statement that only Sibley should be part of the squad next season?

Looking at Ipswich's team from Saturday, from their signings this season; two players started, three came on as a sub and two were unused. That's a possible seven from twenty players, with only five being used. I can see similar happening for Derby in the summer, a few of the older members will leave and hopefully be replaced by younger upcoming players. Perhaps a half dozen in and out each, including retaining Gayle and Adams. We need a settled club at all levels for continuity, from the boardroom to coaching staff and players. Ripping everything up and starting again each summer just doesn't work and ultimately led us to where we are now.

Jimmy McSporran is currently scoring for fun for the Lossiemouth Rocket Snappers. He's an imposing presence at 5'7" and he'd boss it in the Championship. A snip at 10k/week. Jock Stauner at Yoker FC is also worth a look. He's a tough centre mid, known for big tackles and being a no nonsense hard man.

Hopefully we had a built in optional future fee. Didn't we have the same with Martin, Forsyth and Jamie Ward back in the day under Clough? If not, he'll surely know where his bread is buttered. He didn't get a sniff at Cardiff, had no relationship with their fans, whereas here he's a nailed on starter and loved by the fans. Make it happen Warne and co!

Based on the very limited number of times I had seen him play , I thought he was the most promising CB to have come through our academy since the early/mid 00's. I thought he was a 'complete CB' - good on the ball, decent pace, and strong in the air.

Great points. There is no way the referee could see whether Gayle handled it because Gayle had his back to him. The assistant was on the other side so couldn't have seen it. They both saw Gayle get to the ball first and be taken down, so it was the sensible decision.
I loved the comedy VAR call and subsequent hands on head meltdown by their keeper.
Perhaps rather than moan at the officials, he shouldn't be rushing out of his goal and giving the referee a decision to make?
