It's been a torrid period for Derby but the Championship club are finally due to get some clarity over the points deduction they will face for both going into administration and financial rule breaches on accounts yet to be made public.
The overall decision could be made public either today or tomorrow, with the likelihood being that the Rams will lose anything up to 21 points, which could leave them on minus three points, 18 from safety and with virtually no chance of avoiding relegation. 
It is understood virtually all credible parties currently interested in buying the club are doing so on the basis Derby will be in League One next season.
The club has only spent four seasons in the third tier of the English game in its entire history.

Why would they be unhappy? the accounts were aligned with accepted accounting practice - only the EFL were unhappy with them because they didn't meet their unwritten requirements to be in the same format as everyone eles's.....

How do you get to minus 44 Million in the 19/20 season - this wasn't Covid hit year, signings were not that significant (even if you take amortised amount or none amortised) and were offset by sales (Vydra?). Our income would have been circa £25-£30m so you're saying we had £70 Million of outgoing on the books?

Is there much of an argument that, had we been made aware of our amortisation policy ‘non-compliance’ earlier, we could have adjusted transfer spending so as not to exceed acceptable losses? I would assume if that logic was valid then it would form part of Nick de Marco’s mitigation argument?

What a race! After Silverstone, hearing Horner mithering into Masi's ear after Crashtappen tried to put Lewis in the lake was was some beast-level irony. The FIA have really done themselves few favours this season but Hamilton's always been a streetfighter and this could still go down to the wire.
The last 3 races will be run on tacks that will again favour the Merc car, but whatever happens, this has been a WDC for the ages. It's had everything and will live long in the memory. How sweet it would be to see Horner crying into his Macchiato ?

Seen a lot of people say it but we may as well turn around and say “9 or 1000 we don’t give a damn” then walk out the room with two fingers up. Makes no difference whatsoever. The EFL have won ‘dear EFL what a sad little life’.   
 
Can’t wait for us to finally get to the promised land whether it’s in 5 years or 30. Hopefully I’ll be around to tweet (or whatever the social media platform is at that point) them with the smuggest message in existence.

For goodness sake why can't all the charges be brought onto the open and delt with speedily. This silence is disgraceful.

This is exactly it. EFL leak any old rubbish to the press and fans of other clubs believe it.
