This is one of those nonsense myths around Warne that some people just won’t drop. Just because the press or questionable football accounts on social media link us with a player doesn’t mean we’ll sign them. Last year we signed players from the following clubs;
Arsenal
Blackpool
Bristol City
Cardiff City
Charlton
Coventry
Hull
Luton
Notts Forest
Peterborough
Rotherham
Stoke
Sunderland
Wigan
The January window the season before we signed players from Norwich and Spurs. We’ve been told the club is looking at players across Europe, yet still some people want to peddle the myth that we only sign Rotherham cast offs 🙄
Suspect we won’t land Herbie Kane anyway. Strong rumour he’s going to Monte Carlo.
-
Let’s not rely on the usual South Yorks Warne connections for signings, the net needs to be cast wide. Much wider than Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield.

Adam Lallana , just released by Brighton . Would take the P in the Championship . IF ,we can get Hourihane off the books .
Exactly the type of transfer we don’t need, the ageing former star whose best years are well gone, but still demanding a huge salary. Didn’t we learn the lesson with Hourihane - the legs and the heart have gone.

Nixon linking us with Herbie Kane.
Hoping it’s Harry not Herbie. Would rather have Kyprianou and/or Randall from Peterboro.
-
Please no Josh Windyarse and no more ageing has-beens with no legs. Take a risk on younger players who might generate ‘capital gains’ in the transfer market. Bring in the right scouts and coaches and back yourselves.
-
I do think picking up 3 or 4 of the better players from L1 gets you a long way in the Champ. I really like the Peterboro set up. Most of their squad is under 25, they have pace and fitness and try to keep the ball on the ground. Much to be admired by their set up. I like Kyprianou and Randall in midfield. Poku is decent as is at least one of their centre halves and wings. Now they are out of the playoffs we need to beat Portsmouth to mop up some of those better players.

Has anyone connected with Derby actually come out and even alluded to what our transfer budget will be this summer, whether we will have to sell first to outlay on transfer fees etc etc?
I texted the DCFC press officer yesterday to ask if I can have details on next seasons transfer budget.
He replied promptly with ‘no you can’t’. You’d expect the press officer to be able to spell ‘can’t’ wouldn’t you ?

Didn't Posh break the EFL rules for changing line up drastically without proper reason? Imagine the sides fighting down there won't be happy with that.
The EFL needs to be having words with Ferguson for riding roughshod over the leagues integrity. He should be threatened with a 20 point deduction if it happens again. Suspect Ferguson would rather play Barnsley than form horse Lincoln.
Assuming we finish in second I’d like to see Bolton win the playoffs.

Agent Evatt your work is done. We go flat out for the win on Saturday with NML, Collins and Barks at the top, a combination that has worked best on average throughout the season. I don’t like 3 at the back but it may actually suit our full backs better allowing them to get forward, and Bradley has turned into a goal machine from set pieces.
We get the win and then can enjoy the Carlisle game without the sphincter twitching like a rabbits nose.
-
Two more wins please. Should be ok with new goal machine Bradley finally coming good. Carlisle been playing with gay abandon since being relegated, it will be their cup final. But first replay all those away wins to remind yourselves how you did it. We March on Cambridge.
Good win for Brewers also.

Bottlejobs. With a chance to almost seal autos this lot gives another gutless performance after a week off. No shots on target against a side that played itself out on Sunday. No leadership on or off the field, just some s*** dad jokes.
The coaches take responsibility for zero learning after the Northampton game.

Brave performance. That’s three time this season we’ve been ahead against them and been pegged back. We’d be home and hosed by now if we’d hung onto just some of those winning positions. . But we must now get something at Wycombe, and if we play with the same heart then no reason why we won’t.
-
What was left full-back Sibley doing on the right-wing just before the goal ? That’s some version of ‘total’ football.

Key now is keeping NML fit

Apart from 3 pts and other results ….
Wash got 70 mins
Collins got 20 mins
No further injuries
CBT was decent
Barkhuizen must be close to a return
Gayle is now one week closer to a return
Not sure about Bird, maybe he’s flown away
90 pts gets us up

Running out of steam as a team . How houirhane and Bradley have stayed on I’ll never know
Warne puts his personal relationships with senior players before the needs of the team. He made Hourihane captain which makes not playing him difficult. And he made Bradley his big money signing when what we actually needed was a striker. He feels compelled to play Bradley and moved away from a successful 433 to accommodate him.
-
Guessing Hourihane us jogging through thus one as usual, leading by example.

Have you seen him play?
Er no, that’s the point. Star January signing not seen yet, but PW must have seen him before signing him, and they billed him as someone who can improve the first X1.

Not sure why CBT still cannot get a starting role. Hourihane and Waghorn really have to front up today.

Their manager mentioned in his presser today he might have to call upon 35 year old striker Danny Hylton who has only been involved 4 times this season and does radio commentary for Luton Town. All the makings of first goalscorer 😂
And we are likely to be leading with Waghorn or Washington. Hot money on a 0-0 unless Sibbers can conjure another winner.
Any news on Collins ? Presumably not yet back in training.

Bolton have been desperately poor. Don’t know why they insist on playing it out from the back when none of the defence are capable and the midfield isn’t looking for the ball. Santos hasn’t made a forward pass. Not clear how they finished third based on this, no quality on show today. This will be the end of Evatt.
Not one Bolton player I’d want. Brannigan and the centre half look decent, and I like a forward like Murphy with pace and movement.
