I'm not doubting this, why do people imagine I am doubting this? I stated from what i saw the surrounding area was a dump, I didn't visit the park but I haven't denied its existence like some creationist moron.

i cant believe your saying we made up a park, i wer there last sunday for the wednesday fun day, wednesday wer there and i had loads of fun...honest

That is a different matter of me seeing much of the area, I haven't stated that I saw loads of the area therefore I have only commented on what I saw. I haven't classed the whole area a dump just the bits I saw, I haven't called Sheffield a dump and nor has anyone else.

Wherever you've seen, you've classed it as a dump. I don't think you can do that without experiencing a whole area, considering you didn't even see a park a roads width from the ground, I doubt you know the area at all.

I can class what I have seen as a dump, I cannot class what I haven't seen as a dump. I don't know the area which is why I am not commenting on the 'area' but just the bits I saw.

That's weird because people in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones etc.... take a look at Chadd (Chaddesden), Allenton, Alvaston, Osmaston and Sinfin areas before you throw stones, also Sheffield is a much bigger city then Derby so yes just like Manchester, Leeds etc you will get good and bad areas, bit of a silly sweeping statement if you ask me.

Welcome to the forum operationpig.

If I may defend myself for a minute and state why what I said was not a 'silly sweeping statement'.

I was talking about the stretch which runs parellell with the stadium. Don't you think it's fair to say it's very unasthetically pleasing? I would. From what I remember all those years ago to when I was a kid, going past on the 53 bus, it's always been the same. Not much attempt has been made in an effort to clean it up a bit which I think is another fair comment.

That's simply all I meant. I appreciate the club may not own any of the land on that particular bit of Peniston Road, they may not have the money/incentive to buy any and turn it into a decent car park and make it a bit more welcoming to visiting fans. Instead it's all weeds and crumbled, knackered walls. Some people may not like Pride Park, but at least the surrounding area is tidy.

I know full well there are deprived areas all over, but some at least make an effort to smarten them up. I wish every place would, it's not something that's exclusive to Hillsborough but for me that parts never changed and I don't think it ever will. Apart from the casino, which looks nice, the rest has been sadly neglected.

No, I think it's lovely and looks quite like Albert Dock in Liverpool which I like to visit.
