The whole of North Sheffield is grim, Hillsbrough is actually one of the better areas. Some of the big estates are in awful decline. Bramhall Lane is actually a nice ground, nicely enclosed a lot better than any of the new builds.

I'm very familiar with Parson Cross and The Manor 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> definate **** holes.

Well where Hillsborough is located is farcical. It is the equivalent to something out of a warzone, the ground is a dump which for the vast majority of the time is barely half full. You'd be better cutting down the size of it to 31,000, making the stadium a bit nicer especially the concourse and rennovate the area around the stadium.

That's just testicles....Pride Park is a stadium, Hillsborough is a ground, many that remember the old BBG will relate to that comment.

When we talk about warzone we mean about the general area being run down and decrepit for instance in the Hillsborough area there are plenty of houses and buildings which aren't occupied or used. The language we use is not literal, parts of Sheffield aren't like a war zone but figurative e.g. it's a damn mess. Of course if you missed that day in English it's okay.

I agree that a ground should have character and it should be located within range of houses however it doesn't mean the concourse can't be made a bit better and it doesn't mean the surrounding area has to be a dump either. You can keep the character which I agree is good while making it a bit nicer.

*ahem* 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

in all seriousness, that area does need some attention.

I see you missed your English class as well, the definition of warzone off dictionary.com; "

an area where a war is taking place or there is some other violent conflict."

I've never seen Sheffield like that. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

edit - don't know why the post messed up like that!

I was playing a little outside the real world dear sir. Please don't be so literal and approach the world with a little irony.

Also I said it was equivalent to something out of a warzone which means it looks like a warzone but it isn't. Therefore your definition is meaningless compared to my post.

I prefer Wendy's to Blades, wendys seem to be more of a family club, the blunts seem to be chavs in shirts.

I concur, Sheffield United fans come across as uncouth halfwit's to me....and I despise that Chris Morgan that used to "play" for them, dirty get.

A mate of mine was wearing a west ham shirt on the last day of the infamous Tevez season while in a Utd pub. Needless to say he was beaten to a bloody pulp. Lovely people them blades.

Some of my family are blunts, I try to give them a wide berth when I see them coming.... 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yep. Look at Oakwell, that's in the middle of terraces but at least it's tidy and looked after.
