Rampant Rob
Haven't heard anything about him since he joined Reading, so had a look to see how he was getting on. Doesn't get in the Reading squad at all these days. Only made two subsitute appearances for them. McDermott clearly thinks along the lines of Clough, that he's not good enough. Seem to remember so many fans talking about how amazing he was.
Rampant Rob
Robson-Kanu and Simon Church aren't exactly world beaters. Surely if he was so good he would be ahead of them on the bench.

Alph
Reading and Derby are entirely different. Your memory is dodgy too because i'm not sure anyone said he was amazing. Just had something we needed. He served us well last season. Remember that? Doyle didnt. You need to be careful making "told you so" threads. They can come back to bite you. Hows Tyson and Maguire doing too? Will we be getting those updates?

Day
Just had a pop onto a Reading forum, they still rate him, some are baffled why he isn't playing but the counter argument is you don't mess with a winning team. Can't really argue with that. I guess we'll see at the end of the season how much McDermott rates him at the end of the season when his contract is up and possibly looking forward to next season in the Prem. Asanovic
I can't say we've played one game since he left and thought 'if we had Cwyka here, things could be different'. He's a decent player in this league, that's about it. If he couldn't get in to our team, I'm not sure how anyone thought he was realistically going to get in to Reading's squad - I'm still slightly confused why they signed him. Rampant Rob
I'm sure why you keep bringing up Doyle, I know they have similar ability but I fail to see the point you are making. It's not like Doyle kept Cywka out of the team. In terms of end product Ben Davies provides far more than Cywka ever did. As for the Maguire update. Has scored 2 goals for Pompey and because of this is the best striker in the division without a doubt. Still can't control the ball though. Leicester Ram
I believe if we had Cywka now, we would have won on Saturday. A bit of a spark to bring on for the last 30 minutes would be super ******* duper atm.

For a midfielder, and a set-piece specialist, 2 goals in 38 starts is poor.. McCleary for Forest who plays in the same position scored more in 1 game.. And Cywka, who was also played out wide, scored 5 goals in 29 starts.. 1 goal every 6 games for a midfielder also isn't 'brilliant' but it's not terrible.. I think it's a position we need to resolve.. Our midfielders (and defence for that matter) should be chipping in with at least 15-20 goals a season (combined) I fear were nowehere near that.. Rampant Rob
Your right Davies doesn't get enough goals. But how many assists did Cywka get whilst at Derby? I doubt there were many. He was not exactly a provider. I think they would both get into our team. Simon Church over Theo or Steve Davies come on. Robson-Kanu better than Jamie Ward? Every time ive seen him play he's been dire. He's no Jimmy Kebe thats for sure.

curb
Why's that pedantry? He said Doyle didn't keep him out of the team, well he did, with one of the most inept performances I've seen in 40 years of watching Derby, in fact I can't remember any player other than Gazza on the verge of bursting into tears, yet we had a very able and competent player not even making the bench. Define 'able and compentent' with Cywka the example.
