sage
I heard from a source tonight that Clough offered his resignation last year and did so again after the Crawley game. The club have turned it down on both occasions. He is cheesed off with not being backed financially. How true it is I don't know, but thought I'd pass it on. Srg
Sounds like rubbish to me, as he would know full well the financial situation when coming to the club.

davenportram
Sounds like rubbish to me, as he would know full well the financial situation when coming to the club. he did say in his 2 year interview taht things were worse than he thought. Jewell tried to resign twice as well.
WilkoRam
If he was that cheesed off would he not just leave? Seems like rubbish to me? Can he be kept there against his will?
CumbrianRam
If he was that cheesed off would he not just leave? Seems like rubbish to me? Can he be kept there against his will? Yeah, he is contracted to Derby County FC.
Jammy
I'm sure if he was that annoyed then he'd of gone to the press as well, but not once has he shown any signs of frustration against the board.

WilkoRam
Yeah, he is contracted to Derby County FC. Wow, that's awful (shows how much I ow about the real world) Doubt it's true though, I hope, maybe.
Srg
No he can't just leave because as has been said, he is under contract. But yes, if he wanted to engineer a sacking, he would have had a cry in the press.
WilkoRam
Hopefully all just malicious rumour.
sage
Maybe NC handing his notice in as an ultimatum has sparked the sudden activity of Commons and Davies.
CornwallRam
Maybe NC handing his notice in as an ultimatum has sparked the sudden activity of Commons and Davies. My thoughts too. If the board had to talk Nigel into staying they probably had to offer him something and I suspect he didn't want a discount on Ramsplayer. 2tups
Another interpretation is that he just has a bit more honesty and decency about him than some previous incumbents. Must be his Darley Abbey upbringing.
rynny
A couple of WAGS said they heard the rumour, and is the reason he didn't give a after match interview!! Just read this back to myself and thought how ridiculous this sounds!!

Derby Loyal
Don't believe he offered to resign, if he wanted to walk, he would just walk. Would believe that he threatened to walk if not backed though.
Duracell
Wasn't there that bloke who used to manage that club we support in the early 70s who offered his resignation to make a point to the board?
