What was your 1st replica football kit ?

My first replica kit was 'home-made' in 1971, when the old fluffy ram was replaced with the 'more modern' ram logo. (please note that to my knowledge, replica shirts were not on sale at this time)

I bought a plain white football shirt, created an accurate copy of the ram and traced this outline onto the shirt. Finally, it was given to me Mum to embroider the logo.

Unfortunately, I drew the logo on the 'back' of the shirt, so every time I wore it, it was back-to-front !! :frown:

haha.

Mine was handed down to me, it had Patrick as the sponsors i think.

First one i bought was the old barcode black kit, best description i can think of.

My first replica kit was this cracking Rangers strip.

Followed by my first derby shirt a couple of years later

I loved my rangers shirt. For a couple of years i wouldn't be seen anywhere without it.

Honestly cannot remember ever buying a replica shirt for myself, although I have bought a few over the years for my kids.

I find DCFC polo type shirts hide the beer belly far better now anyway.

Still have my scarves though, thankfully gone past the wearing around the wrist stage...

Hate to admit this but mine was a wba shirt from 1957. My uncle, a big baggies fan, took me (aged 9) and brother to the Hawthorns to watch wba v man u - (4 - 3). The shirts (mine and brother's) must have been home made I think.

Anyway there were over 52000 at the Hawthorns that day watching the famous Busby babes - pre Munich of course. West Brom had no mean team either - it included Bobby Robson, Don Howe and Derek Kevan.

I didn't get bitten by the rams bug until about 1964 with the likes of Bill Curry and Mick Hopkinson playing.

My second replica shirt and first Rams shirt, was last season's home strip, 52 years I had to save up for that!

I dont think you were the last to make that mistake - the ram did mysteriously change direction a few times over the years. In 81-82 it moved to face left and then from 94 it faced right, as you wear the shirt, again.

I seem to recal Shilts faced a different way to the rest of the team in one season.

Me too, it was the most disgusting polyester material, I think i spent more time scratching myself than playing actual football in it.

Favorite has to be the Puma kit from th first season at PP, very simple, very cool. Had Eranio 27 on the back :D
