Warren Barton - I was a massive fan of his when he was at Wimbledon and Newcastle. Legs had started to go by the time he came to us though. He ended up playing way deeper and more defensively, which had never been his forte. I swear I remember him starting a few games at centre back.

This sounds bad until you specify that the club was Forest. If somebody tried to make me spend time in Nottingham, I'd demand an absurd remuneration package.

I wouldn't have got that if you had posted all the letters as a clue, and didn't even jumble them up!  I literally don't recall anything of him!  Shame on me!

However, confusion now reigns supreme...

A quick Google has wiki stating:
"...he was transferred to Southampton in summer 2005.[3]
In January 2006, his contract with Southampton was cancelled, enabling him to sign for Derby County on an eighteen-month contract, however this deal was also terminated early, after only four months at the club."

They back that up in his career listing doodah, showing "2006 - Derby County (5 apps, 0 goals)."

Asking the question "Who signed Tomasz Hajto for Derby?", Google AI replies "George Burley signed Tomasz Hajto for Derby County in January 2006 after Hajto's contract with Southampton was canceled by mutual consent".

But wait... Further Googling has wiki showing our managers as:

George Burley:  31 Mar, 2003 to 07 Jun, 2005

Phil Brown:  24 June 2005 to 30 January 2006

Terry Westley:  30 January 2006 to 2 June 2006

So, in essence, do we put all this on Phil Brown, or not?  Was this his last act before getting the boot?

Or did Terry Westley bring him in on his first day in his new job?

I have to say, this is all rather...
