Nyambe: 8.0 Typically unflappable, he's too good for this league. Sibley: 6.5 Late appearance in lesser favoured slot, played his part. Nelson: 8.0 Another commanding performance. Makes everything look so easy! Cashin: 9.0 Not a lot this kid can't do is there really? Tango maybe? Bet he's s*** at ballroom dancing. MOTM (again) and worth more than £3 million IMO. Forsyth: 8.0 Was always going to score today, you could just see he wasn't having it at 2-0. Actually unlucky not to finish with a brace. I'll probably cry when Fozzy retires. Bradley: 7.0 Solid enough on limited evidence. Confidence remains a worry, but Warne keeping him in and around games may yet pay dividends. I still think he might show himself a far better player than we've seen. Wilson: 8.0 Always available, always willing, the lad's a nightmare for oppo FBs. They can't even get close enough to kick him. Ward: 6.5 Got a cross on him and looked assured enough in the time he was given. Bird: 8.0 Birdy must be loving life - runners everywhere, a solid midfield to attack from and getting a few chances himself too. Another classy outing. Hourihane: 8.0 Much criticised on here and has been incredibly inconsistent, but seems to be finding fitness and top form. Another strong showing from the skipper. Barkhuizen: 7.0 Better from Barks, but he's yet to really hit his straps this season. Was good yesterday though and ran hard. Thompson: 7.5 Love him, proper little terrier and typical of him that he got on the end of a cross despite being a foot shorter than everyone else in the box. Méndez-Laing: 7.5 Threatening again without being absolutely at his peak. I'd start him again against Posh then give him a week off. Collins: 6.5 Tough day for Collo but he did bravely get his nut on the cross setting up Fozzy for our opener. John-Jules: 7.5 I've read a few posts on here writing the lad off - can't fathom that. Looks like he could prove a class above to me and it'll be interesting to see what happens next with him. Warne Watch: Got everything right. The transformation in the side this last month or two has been marked and results like this give credence to the argument that this is not a flash in the pan and that we are winning on merit. It's good to see Clowes' patience rewarded, long may it continue. Agree about Hourihane last 2 games he has been really good, yesterday the free kick Cashin scored from was spot on, seems a yard quicker as well, think he will score on monday. DiggerB
1Wildsmith - 5.5 Rush of blood in the 2nd minute. Perhaps too pumped up for this ‘big’ game. Whether it was a pen or not, ahould never have put himself in that position in the first place. 24Nyambe - 7.5 Solid again. Will be a big miss during AFCON. Expect Smith to fill the vacancy. 17Sibley - 7.0 Brought new energy when the midfield was waning. Not sure there’s a place for him long-term. 35Nelson - 8 Felt for him for the pen as I thought he had the situation under control. Mr Dependable again. 6Cashin - 9.0 Complete performance from the young man. Able to show his attacking prowess as Oxford gave him a quiet night defensively. 3Forsyth - 8.5 Unlucky with the header. Fox in the box at the back stick. Always looking to join in to keep us on the front foot 5Bradley - 7 Added a threat in the box against a keeper who didn’t fancy coming for it. Not really tested 2Wilson - 7.5 Doubled-up on most of the night and dogged their defence. His reaction after the final whistle showed he’s loving it here. 23Ward - 6.5 Played it sensibly to help see out the game. 8Bird - 7.5 I like him starting deeper. Unlucky the ball was driven under his feet for his first-half goal attempt. 4Hourihane - 7 Not a great first half, save finally delivering a decent corner for Foz’s goal. Great delivery for Cash’s goal. Think his replacement will be high on Warne’s shopping list. 7Barkhuizen - 6.5 Struggling with consistency. Still think he’ll be important for us at points this season. 16Thompson - 7.5 A very welcome return. Bags of energy and so petite he went unnoticed by their defence for his goal 😆. 11Méndez-Laing - 7 Better once playing wider. Think he’ll start there v Pish (sorry Posh). 9Collins - 7 Pressed their defence and keeper all night and his flick on presented Foz with his goal. 19John-Jules - 7.5 Vertically challenged often! Industrious in and out the box. TOUCH form Kane’s zinger to turn and get his shot off. Watched on RTV. Cast iron pen, don’t think the GK can kick the opposing player waist high in the penalty area. Only decision the ref had was whether it was a yellow or red 🤣 Ellafella
