Returning ram Posted December 12, 2023 Share Posted December 12, 2023 Only a matter of time, the level of abuse the officials have to put up with is insane. Grassroots football has been banned in some areas of this country due to the verbal and physical abuse the officials have received on a continued basis, some of this at an age when results aren't even recorded. Football is an emotional game and I have been guilty of shouting for a decision but always make a point of stopping it there, some of the scenes I have seen though are shocking, from following a 15 yr old ref to the car to parents berating a lineperson for putting their flag up.
