We could just put names into a Tombola and pull them out then - if we're going along with the line that there is no point even trying to attach any logic to it.

We could , or we could accept that all managers and owners see different different things at different times and without doubt miss some players that go on to do well and buy some that don’t work out , didn’t chelsea dump Kevin d now at Man City , there is no exact science when your dealing with human beings and a multitude of factors , this lad that’s gone to Oxford might thrive in front of 5000 crowds but freeze under the pressure of 31000 fans full of expectations and stink the place out , no matter how much you do your homework or have an eye for a player the old tombola you mention plays a part , now if we had plenty of doe and could buy players then loan them out like the prem clubs great but we don’t ,we have a limited budget and it has to be used to get us promoted 🤷🏻‍♂️
