Run in to play offs...

After my unfounded uber-confidence of yore (Well, ok... yesterday morning!), I now predict a decent outcome... but not as we know it...

A damp, uninspiring, backs to the wall defeat on Sunday, tempered solely but oh-so-relievingly  by Posh's similar result at T'Baaaaarnsleh.

We go through by the scruff of our downtrodden heels.
We go through on a downer.
We go through with a lack of confidence on the pitch.
We go through with no proclamations of grandeur from the management.
We go through with a fanbase lacking in expectation.  60,000+ shoulders shrugging in unison.

I quite like that!

#Let The Lottery begin
#Last team standing
#Gotta be in it to... erm... shhhhhhh...

Can someone cleverer than me (i.e. anyone) list the possible permutations of the possible outcomes of Wednesday v Derby and Barnsley v Peterborough which give us what we need. 👍

It’s actually not too complicated:

Derby win - Peterborough any result = Derby in play offs

Peterborough fail to win - Derby any result = Derby in the play offs

Derby draw - Peterborough win by less than 3 goals = Derby in the play offs

Derby draw - Peterborough win by 3 or more = Peterborough in the play offs

Derby lose - Peterborough win = Peterborough in the play offs

I think that’s right.

That’s a good summary. Bolton’s result is relevant too in terms of we could still finish 5th, if we win and they lose their last game, we’d leapfrog them into 5th.

You missed one..................................................................... Peterborough win 3-0 and Derby draw 10-10 with Wednesday = Peterborough on head to head.🙄😂😔

That's possible with an away fixture to Bristol Rovers for Bolton and Sheffield Weds with nothing to play for and possibily wanting to rest key players ready for their play-off fixtures.
