The fact that Mel Morris was engaging in criticism of the EFL from the beginning of his tenure as DCFC owner was not helpful. It lead to ongoing conflict and a breakdown in relations. The rules are the same for all 72 clubs and whether we agree or disagree, compliance is a membership requirement.

Instead of merely criticising the EFL over the TV rights deal, he should have simply threatened to sue them if they didn't sufficiently punish QPR, Leicester et al if they ever got relegated back into the EFL.
