Just saying that IF Derby had the same deal with Shef Weds as they had with Blackpool, and they sell him for £750,000,Derby are hundreds of thousands of pounds out of pocket is all, :).

But not as out of pocket as we would have been paying him and not playing him. That's if it is true that we only broke even on the loan.

Even if we are out of pocket, what does it matter a year ago I thought we would have to pay him off!

Some have said this loan has shown a profit, and Varney will make Derby money, merely stating this is not so.

How much was the loan fee? He joined us for around £1 mil and if he leaves for £750k+ add ons (maybe upto say £850k) then we're looking at a £250k loss on just transfer fees and maybe as low as £150k if we're lucky. How much did Blackpool pay as a loan fee, anyone know? If it was £250k we broke even and if it was more we made a profit (on fees). Anyone know what the loan fee was?

Not to question your mighty all-knowingness Smithy...

They paid a loan fee sure, but Derby still paid his wages

We paid an element of his wages, but the wording of Holloway's statement reads as though they paid most of them.

Then again, this was the same interview where he said they had the £250k 'clause' in the contract. Unlucky indeed you bald c***! :D
