I think the fact that we've rejected it means a couple of things. 1) We rate him higher than that - I think his versatility and calmness on the ball are great at this level. 2) We aren't quite as desperate to trim the squad as some may think 3) We are unlikely to be able to replace him for the same price Rooney seems to trust the passing around at the back still and we have looked sharper doing that since he took over. Someone has leaked it, not sure which side. Buyer, seller or player? Not really a lot of time to find a replacement though and we've sold our other 1st team CB (MtW) and Davies is out long term. Even if we do sign a defender before the window closes we are short on numbers and it would be just our luck to lose more players to injury after the window closes.
