Personally feel @Lambchop has taken a lot of flak in this thread, the ‘you can’t take someone else having a different opinion to yours’ point is the exact same argument you could put at the ones who engaged with all the politics stuff in the first place. Hence leading to it being banned.

Too many want to have their cake and eat it.

More ugly scenes at Chelsea yesterday, same old faces I’m sure will still try to defend the actions saying it’s a one off or can’t be proved, deflect the criticism onto others etc....however it just shows this problem is still very much evident.

Sterling also calling out the press on how they wrote two stories on Man City players and how it shows how racism is fuelled by the press.

It's the inevitable group dynamic which recurs every time someone challenges the prevailing view or identity of the group. No amount of reporting individual posts is going to change that, it requires an awareness and intent to actively counter it, which clearly isn't going to happen.

As for the other part, guilty as charged. My opinion is that racism and other forms of discrimination are wrong, and I'm not going to dilute or compromise that view for the sake of fitting in.

And yes, agreed, cake is very much being had and eaten in certain quarters.

I’ve seen  the video and it’s 50/50 as to whether he was being racist. To me it sounded like he was saying you f@cking Manc see you next Tuesday rather than being racist .

Watch the vid slowed down until the end mate. I think you'll change your mind.  I won't link the vid as that would probably get the post rightly pulled.

If not the first time, then for sure the second. Try it yourself.

Make a Ma with your mouth  now make a Bla with your mouth. Look at the last second of the vid.

Disgraceful from that bloke. Pure and simple.

As far as I can see EVERYONE on this thread agrees with that view. You just seem to want to think that you dislike it more than everyone else.

My problem is the racism card being used at every possible opportunity and not being challenged, in my opinion that makes the situation worse.

This thread is a perfect example. Racism is called, disproven and then what happens? Nothing. We just move on and wait for the next opportunity to call racism again. Lo and behold it comes up the next day.

Not seen or heard about the Sterling incident yet so can't comment though.

Disproven, unproven or denied?

Keen to get folks views on John Terry v Anton Ferdinand. I'd love to see the views on that thread from a couple of years back and compare them to posters views on this.

He denied it. So did John Terry.

I know how I viewed the John Terry incident, I'd be a hypocrite to change the rules for this bloke.

Well the guy denied it and the police concluded that it was not racially motivated, not sure what evidence they were going on but guessing there was not enough evidence to conclude otherwise.

John Terry is a scumbag. That's my view.

Can't remember the exact details of that incident but my feeling on the matter is that using language that some people deem as racism does not necessarily make a person a racist.

Over his career Terry will have played with and socialised with many non white people so I doubt he would fit the true definition of a racist.

A very good point, just because the police don’t charge somebody, doesn’t mean they are not guilty of the offence.

Throwing a banana on the pitch for me is racially motivated, I don’t buy into the i  found it on the floor story, however an opinion means nothing, to convict someone.

Any racism is wrong, there is no justification for it whatsoever, He used racist language but is not a racist....really ?

Yes really.

If you call someone a fat whatever does it mean you hate all fat people and think you are better than them?

I shall post in the predictions league, read about the football, and leave it at that.

I'd prefer it if you'd continue to post in the off topic areas but quit the predictions league. You're two points ahead of me and i've got my eyes on your premiership place.

Strange that.

I was reading the John Terry thread from 2011 and it's just been pulled.

Nothing personal of course.

It means you are commenting on their physique and believing yours is superior, why else use it.

However they are not comparable in any shape or form, suggesting there is a uniformity in prejudice between the 2 is wrong in my opinion, racism is based on race or ethnicity.

Sorry but I’m going to bow out with discussing this with you, you are entitled to your opinion but it’s not one I will ever agree on.
