"It is understood that the former Hull City winger has clubs from the Premier League and the top of the Championship interested in his services, with Aston Villa and Derby County previously linked with a move."

I'm starting to think we've merged a bit like Brighton & Hove or Dagenham & Redbridge.  Aston Villa & Derby County is getting as frequent as Forest nil.

Seems to be odds-on to join Sheffield Wednesday now. Unsure whether that's a big target missed or a blessing in disguise

Could be that he was Rowett's 'cheap' option but that now we have cash from the Ince sale to buy a younger model.

I think George Boyd would be a great signing for us.

It wasn't that long ago that people were lamenting the sales of Kitson, Pembridge, Johnson, etc. and bemoaning the signing of a bloke from Port Vale (who also had long hair).

 It was 21 years ago.

Ok, it wasn't that long ago that we sold Idiakez and Smith and the fans were up in arms about that one too.

That worked out well for us... in the short term!

I think the saying goes: You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.

30-year-old leaving Burnley for one last big pay cheque. Honestly happy to have missed out on this one...if we were ever in for him, that is.

Would rather take a gamble on a cheaper, younger player showing a lot of potential than a George Boyd.

Remember when The bald eagle came in and sold all the big names short, kitson, pembridge, and ooh tommy Johnson and replaced them with unknowns van der laan, carsley, stimac and rowett ?

didnt turn out so bad !

Other than Boyd (and Watkins) we've hardly been linked with wingers/strikers. GR spoke earlier of making a couple of attacking additions. Be interesting to see what happens in the next few days...

He's 32 this year in October.
