If we are going to be playing with a CDM next season ( Thorne ) well we need a back up, was thinking what about dean whithead? Captain hudds against us watched him closely just stayed inFront of back 4 and stopped a lot! Decent cheap optionV

Noooooooooooooooooo. We don't want pensioners at this club. Dean Whitehead has barely played for Huddersfield all season and isn't mobile at all. We should be looking at players who are a young and upcoming to bring into this team.

Barely played? he has played 50 games for Huddersfield, not sure he could have played anymore games?

Great signing for Hudds, now in the playoffs.

Isn't signing Ledbitter similar to signing Whitehead?

Leadbitter is only 31 but brings experience as well as energy. Dean Whitehead is very experienced but is now 35. Plus I just think Leadbitter is miles better than Whitehead anyways.

Yet Whitehead has the more distinguished career.

I would agree with that Whitehead has won far more in his career than Leadbitter has but football is a team game so Whitehead has played in teams that have won league titles doesn't prove that he's a better player than Leadbitter. All I am saying is I prefer Leadbitter to Whitehead. I prefer Ronaldo to Messi but Messi has more Ballon d'Or trophies. On paper you would always go with Messi stats don't lie but I just like the way Ronaldo plays. Plus I think I would rather bring a yougster through the academy than bring in a 35 year old. His contract runs out at the end of the season so it will be interesting if Huddersfield don't get promoted to see if they feel he is worth another contract.

Whitehead has played at the higher level for longer. Leadbitter has 3 meaningful seasons in the prem, including this season, Whitehead has at least twice that amount.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying we should sign Whitehead, I am saying we shouldn't sign Whitehead or Leadbitter, I don't think we should be buying players whose best days are behind them.

I think we should take a gamble next season with a chelsea youngster called Dom Solanke. Tall, fast young lad. Tammy Abraham has done wonders at bristol city this season arguably single handedly kept them from going down so why not gamble (We have no young striker)

Good player , but I think he sees himself playing at a slightly higher level .

Benitez will get £70m to spend this summer. I'd say we need to be alert in that front... I wouldn't mind getting Gayle to offer some speed or Diame some physicality.

Problem is though , everyone at Newcastle is going to be on huge wages.
