Wow, it's a cracker:

"Everybody knows Nuge and respects him straight away, so there is no settling in period there." - Steve McClaren

Pronounced "Nudge" or "Nooge"?

Bit more original that "<FOOTBALLER_SURNAME>y" I suppose. Anyone have any previous favourite footballer nicknames? "Benty" always makes me smile.

Has to be New-ge.

Nobody prounces his surname nudge-ent do they?

Nudge is a name I've heard used for him by team mates in the past.

*Nooge* sounds a bit like *Noob* - which would make more sense considering he just arrived.

I'd have thought it'd be nooge?

As in "the nooge is just what we needed/a complete waste showing how bad our transfer policy is"(entrench positions by 9.30pm tonight and do not give ground)

The big D

anyone got any songs for the big man?

It is Nooge. Leicester fans used to shout 'Noooooge' when he played for them. Bit like 'Poooooom'.
