HITC have this tonight

Queens Park Rangers, Birmingham City, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are all keen on signing Conor Washington from Peterborough United.

According to a report in the Football League Paper, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby Countyhave both entered the race for Peterborough United front man Conor Washington.

The 23-year-old forward is one of the most in demand players in the Football League, after scoring 12 goals in his last 14 appearances.

The likes of Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City are similarly keen, according to the Football League Paper, with four other Championship clubs also chasing Washington.

Peterborough have not ruled out selling the striker, but they do want a big fee to part with their prized attacking asset.

Posh are asking for £5 million for the former Newport County man, and it is claimed that two Championship sides are prepared to meet that asking price.

Always cautious about players who go from one lower league club to another and then start scoring a few, maybe at their level, certainly NOT worth 5 million

This is where I play the Jamie Vardy card.

Got 4 million for Austin, now spending 3 million on this guy? Glad we're not them.

This the problem in a nutshell. Austin £4 million plus monster wages for four years. Southampton do not expect to get relegated.

Peterborough player £3 million and much lower wages. Hasselbaink is a striker and should know one when he sees one. Probably worth £1 million or £6 million in 18 months. You have to take risks.

Watford signing a player for £6.1 million and Pantillimon from Sunderland. Phenomenal progress since last season.
