What a fight back...that shows the measure of our team and its passion.

We didn't give up,we didn't roll over,we stood back up and faced them down

Whatever happens this season,we should be proud of them for the heart they show and be proud of ourselves for supporting them.

Great times and exciting matches that typify what it means to be a ram

Don't think the pitch was great tonight. Seemed to be dry and bounced awkwardly quite a few times. Not that that is any excuse.

As for more in-depth thoughts...

Mascarell was closed out the game first half, which made it impossible to play through midfield despite Hughes' best efforts. This was mainly because Hendrick wasn't coming short to find space often enough - not really his game, so can't criticise too much.

This forced us to play down the full backs and wingers. Christie looks shot on confidence right now and if Buxton stares at Forsyth for any longer before giving him the ball I think he'd stare a hole in him - in other words, telegraphs it so badly the defence are on top of him when he gets it.

Once it got past the full back, you hit Jamie Ward. Ward either lays it off at roughly chest height, runs into the nearest man before losing out to pace or tries a 40 yard shot or cross to nothing. He needs a spell on the bench, before being moved on in the summer. Not good enough for where we are now.

The game changes with Bryson coming on, who came short along with Hughes. This allowed us to finally play out from the back and through the middle. This in turn allowed us to get Forsyth higher, where he could affect the game.

Dawkins simply must play while Bent is starting. Logically, he received it short and recycles possession. He draws defenders before laying it off. In other words, he's a non-wardrobe version of Martin. He allows us to start our attacks high up the pitch, just as Martin does. Frankly, Dawkins has been brilliant the last two games and that deserves pointing out.

Lingard was a constant threat. Really quick feet. Only minor point was sometimes deferring rather than committing a defender once he got in the box, when he clearly could having already done it outside the box.

Moving on to Saturday... Where's Albentosa? Anyway, I'd drop Buxton and Ward, and play Dawkins and Shotton, presuming the same squad. Although Bryson and Lingard have staked a strong claim.

Final word on the night... Yes disappointed we didn't win, but you take what you can get from how poor we were first half and then being 3-1 down. Also, it was a thoroughly enjoying game to watch and be there for. So can't complain there.

Good first hand report. I also think Bryson will be in for Hendrick on Saturday.

Lingard to be first sub on, as really close between Dawkins and Lingard. Shame Jamie having stinkers, but after His Bournemouth non performance I was amazed he started tonight. He is not a bad player, just Lingard and Dawkins appear to,offer much more.

A poor performance but some of the comments are ridiculous!!

Rotherhams pitch is tiny and they played very narrow meaning the only space we had was down the wings. Now that isn't a problem if you can provide decent deliveries into the box.... but we didn't.

As soon as we made the triple sub we started to play quick one twos through the middle and it worked. Dawkins basically playing as an attacking midfielder and bryson making attacking runs helped us with that.

2 points dropped but not the end of the world.

Grant 5 - Ar fault for one of the goals but also made a top save

Christie 4 - He has lost his confidence that he had at the start of the season. Out of position defensively and couldn't get past the Rotherham left back (or most of the time not having the confidence to even try)

Keogh 6 - Some nice touches at times

Buxton 5 - Too many long balls

Forsyth 6 - Standard

Omar 5 - Purely for the piece of skill... roulette?

Hendrick 5 - Isn't playing well at the moment

Hughes 7 - Maybe too high but he controlled the 2nd half playing a deeper position

Ward 4 - Another player out of form. Offered nothing

Ince 8 - 2 more goals and worked reletively hard

Bent 6 - Scored but still didn't offer a lot

Bryson 6 - Offered something different with his attacking runs and work rate, deserves a start on Saturday

Dawkins 6 - Kept the ball well

Lingard 5 - Very quick and good running with the ball but missed a great chance to score

Also the atmosphere was terrible! The stadium didn't help, I was on the left side and could see the right side singing but couldn't here them, but we were quiet and the songs died out too quickly. Overall a poor away day

Criticism of Grant ridiculous , one mistake to set against his otherwise excellent performances all season , best keeper in Championship ..

Hendrick anonymous again , missing for 90% of match .. Ward running into blind alleys all game .. Christie short on confidence ..

However , biggest downside was the absence of Martin ; Bent might be an opportunist goalscorer , but he offers none of the flair and intelligence that Martin brings to our game ..

Will Hughes an excellent game again , and an absolutely impeccable masterclass of a performance in last 25 minutes or so , from a deep-lying midfield position , absolutely controlling the game like an orchestral conductor ..

McLaren's triple substitution was the stuff of genius , could we ever imagine Clough doing that !

Doom and gloom totally unnecessary , we're still in a position that we would have given anything for at start of season ..

3 awful goals today concede. Keogh and Buckos worst game as a duo. Christie was shocking. Lingard and Bryson changed the game. Ward was unbelievably shocking.

Agree on every comment. You can add to that Mascarell was hiding gor the first 20 mins and when he had the ball it eithervwent sidewards, vackwards or to one of their players. Will was off the pace until the subs came on and Hendrick basically did v little.

Credit to Incey and Bent and well doene to all 3 subs who made a huge difference especially Dawkins who really kept hold ocf the ball, got in to good positions and helped us move up the pitch.

As good as Hughes' last 30 mins was his first hour was woeful. Kept giving thd ball away. Most un-Will-like

Well summed up. Shame Raul isnt fit for Saturday as i would drop Keogh or Bucko. Whilst I'm at it get George in as well.

Thought Dawkins made a big difference when he came on. V intelligent player. Why folk still rave about Ward??????? All huff and puff with no end product.

That is a really interesting point. You couldn't be more wrong, but it's an interesting point.

Derby have made 1044 clearances this season. Middlesbrough 670, Bournemouth 723 and Norwich 664.

How you can say they don't come under much pressure is quite bizarre.

Separate from the game, those are astonishing stats. Not sure how they should be interpreted, but when we're such an outlier, it points to something going on.

If I had Opta access, I would get no work done whatsoever!
