JoetheRam Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Wasn't it just a smoke anyway? Not the same thing as a flare really. One gets to a temperature hotter than the sun (ref. Partridge, A, 1994), is really bright and sheds molten bits of lava onto you, the other gets pretty hot, smells horrible and lets off smoke.
